Ideas for new practice rig?

Hey guys... I am completely ampless right now, the input jack on my Roland VGA3 finally gave after a year of already being half broken. I just get this loud noise from the amp and it would require more work than it is worth to fix it, the modeling technology is also 5 years old.

Would you guys go for a Line6 PODxt and a nice powerd studio monitor or a Vox AD15VT?

The great thing about the Line6 setup is that I could really save some space in my room at school by putting the monitor on my desk and keep the PODxt in a desk drawr. However, it is more costly than a Vox AD15VT.

The good thing about the Vox is that it is cheaper and would sound nicer, but I dont need tube tone for a practice rig.

Get the Vox. You'll be glad you did. You say you don't need the tube tone in a practice rig, but if you're playing at home a lot and like that sound, modeller or not, you'll want it. The Vox does it the best out of all of the modellers. If I could snag the AD15VT right now, I would, then I could leave my AD50VT at the rehearsal space. ;)

How bout the new Vox DA 10 or DA 20? I think those sound almost as good as the VT's and they're both able to run on batteries when you want to show off to the hot chicks at school. :)

Man!

I'm up against Vox AD15VT vs. Line6 right now too!

I think I'm going to get the AD15VT, it sounds better than the 30 and the 50 to me, believe it or not.

$189 is hard to argue with

I would look into Kustom, amps they have fantastic tones that let you be you in their ss combos, their 15 watters are woderfull.

I liked the vox's alot, especially the 60 watter, but the small ones were'nt bad.
But, if you are gonna record, I'd go for the line6.

+1

I have a Vox AD100VTH head, which I run into a Mesa 2x12 cab. Sounds awesome through that cab. For live playing, I'd opt for the Vox -- a combo, in your case.

I have a PODxt as well, and that takes to tape very well. For portability, convenience and recording, the POD is hard to beat.

Definately Line6 if you want the option of recording. It cant be beat for the price. If you just want a small amp for practice then its up in the air.
