If I did this, would I be way off base?

Searched these forums high and low, listened to all the sound clips I could find and this is what I came up with.

Replacing pickups in Tremonti SE, definately want a Jazz in the neck. The dilema is, my Ibanez has Tone Zone (b) and Hum From Hell (n) and I'm looking for something "different" than those two. I like that combo, just don't want to have the exact same tone. Something along the lines of 70's stuff like Zep, Kiss, AC/DC, not really wild over the top gain but some of that straight ballsy stuff like Angus straight into the old Marshalls.

Thinking of going CC, C5, or Dimarzio Super Distortion. Am I way off base? I defer to you guys' superior knowledge as this will be the first set I choose myself, the Ibanez came with what it has. :?: :notworthy

With the Jazz, I would try the C5 or a Pearly Gates, or a DiMarzio Breed. Any of those will keep you classic enough for the Zeppelin stuff and enough power to push through the harder stuff...

for classic tones the 59... or the c5 for more out put...I would stay away from the distotions,,...Honestly for the tone u r askinf for I would go with either 59 set or 59 c5
