yeah i like the amber one too, it makes the holes seem less out of place i think

Yeah ... Surgeon has a real thing for them and keeps on talking about getting one done. Being a Canadian builder even I'm slightly gassing for a Heatly 7 string

Incidently Scott Lerner (who used to post here a bit) had one built quite recently. Errr a Heatly Standard I believe ... not a 7 string

HOLY CRAP...if that was a solidbody with the complete version of that top i'd be sold...what an amazing looking guitar, that top and color are killer!! too bad i have no use for a hollowbody.

Scott's a top-notch guy. Here's a pic of three great luthiers. Joe Driskill is the guy in the orange shirt. Scott's wearing the ball cap and Ron Thorn is the guy with glasses standing behind Scott.

Holy crap Ron Thorn looks young ... out of the 3 luthiers I prefer Ron's work, then Scott and then Joe's (no offence to Scott or Joe both are extremely top notch)
