If we read left to right. ..

Super Mario Bros. plays left to right though, which also is due to technical limitations at the time development.

Do the Japanese have to make a mental adaptation to nearly all side-scrolling video games? Playing a 2D platformer right to left all the way through would be a bit of a mind feck.

No because the character mainly stays in the center and the screen scrolls for you. But they would start at the right of the screen, find the character, then follow the action.

Theres a print at my job of a Japanese painting thats suppose to be a samurai getting overpowered by books raining from the sky, but we currently have it hanging sideways so the samurai is raining down on the books.

If the bastards really cared about us they would put an internal switch on all modern products that let's you reverse the left to right. My synth setup looks horrible because the pedal chain starts to the left of the synth and keeps going left and then I have a long cable to my laptop on the right.

Move the laptop

I am SO going to steal that idea on the two pedal builds I'm doing right now. :fing2:

On a side note, can't you all just make your interconnects a smidgen longer, and criss-cross them underneath the board? I realize that probably entails building your own cables rather than off the shelf items.

It would be better as an external switch so you could always see what the signal flow was at a glance.

If you have some L2R and some R2L you may need special cables

Or just use them as they come

If we're going for crazy ideas . . . I think that pedals should all have standard sized cases and fit together like lego. Power and audio can be automatically connected as you snap each new pedal in line. There would be no real need for a pedalboard, because the pedals themselves would make a tight/flat unit.

I saw one of those a bit back

A board with proprietary pedals for chorus distortion reverb and flange

Room for 5 pedals on thw home board
sswapthem around

Oh wait that's was a zoom board i think

But for anything that is not words, they by nature first try to look at it from right to left.

yo, where can I learn more about this? haven't heard that before. asked my half-Japanese friend at work last night about it and he was like "uhhh, no? " but maybe since he only lived through primary school in Japan before coming here what you are ascribing to an entire society was not as ingrained? I tried duck duck go-ing it but came up empty. help a brotha out
