If you could have just ONE rig..

What would it be? I've already decided, and it's pretty damn basic:arms:

Electric Amp Volume Unit w/ matching 6x12 and 4x12 in Green "Vinyde"
Sunburst Paula
Some sort of overdrive
Dunlop Crybaby 535Q
Some sort of chorus unit

And maybe another stack, the same, except maybe in White or Orange "Vinyde".

Oh, plus my Tele (thinking of decking her out with Marshall amp knobs.. whaddyall think?!) and possibly my V.

For my bass rig though, I'd probably take an Electric Amp Power Unit in either Green, White or Orange "Vinyde", and either a Fender Jazz Bass (in Sunburst) or a Ric 4001 in black, a la Al Cisneros.

Long live the Sleep groove!:bigthumb:

Re: If you could have just ONE rig..

Jackson Custom Neck-Thru Dinky Reverse (quite a mouthful)
Korg DTR-2000
Rocktron Prophesy

Add an Skrydstrup SC-1 and a couple of Rocktron Hex exp pedals for control, and a Furman Power Factor Pro R for AC filtering, and voila.

Re: If you could have just ONE rig..

I'll just stick with what I got.

Re: If you could have just ONE rig..

Hmmm.... I'm going to assume one rig means one guitar and one amp so I won't cheat.

Guitar: my Gibson '61 LP/SG Custom, rewired with coil splits. Solid humbucking tones and plenty of versatility with the middle humbucker (I can only imagine how good it sounds for quack tones if it was split along with the bridge humbucker).

Amp: Hughes and Kettner Triamp Mk II w/ Bogner 4x12 w/ Celestion Greenbacks/G12H30s (simply the most versatile rig I know of; I dig the simplicity of my Shiva, but it won't work for every genre).

Pedals: Clay Jones Psycho overdrive, Pro Analog Supaquack and Dual Drive, Peterson Strobostomp, Digitech WH-1 Whammy w/ true bypass, GoudierFX Clean Boost, Demeter Tremulator, ISP Decimator and ToneCzar Echo Czar. I like my power filtered Monster power strip and I dig my Voodoo Labs Pedal Power II +.

Re: If you could have just ONE rig..

Les Paul, 3ch Dual Recto. If you can't do it with that, it don't need doing.

If I'm allowed two guitars, obviously a Strat. This completes your guitar palette.

You should set a limit on pedals, or perhaps even a pedalboard size, to keep this interesting. Mine's pretty easy, though, either a Q-Tron or T-Wah, Delay of some sort, Big Muff, and of course, a Boss TU-2.

Re: If you could have just ONE rig..

My parker (actually i'd get a better one than i've got now...but same jist), My mesa boogie, and my podxt for effects.

Pretty happy with what i got now.....no need for anything else really.

Re: If you could have just ONE rig..

C-7 Hellraiser into a big rack, which would house the following:

ISP Decimator Rack
Maxon OD808
GCX Switcher
Peavey 5150
Mesa TriAxis
TC Electronics G-Force
Mesa 2:90

Each head would feed a single 2x12 with V30's.

Until I'm rich, I'll stick with the Hellraiser, Recto, G-Major, Avatar 2x12, and snag a 5150 in a couple months ;).

Re: If you could have just ONE rig..

Jackson Kelly U.S.A , Diezel Herbert and matching cab,TC Electronic G system ,Whammy 4,Fulltone Wah ,BBE Sonic Maximizer and maybe Maxon 808.

Re: If you could have just ONE rig..

A Strat, and either a Les Paul or an SG.....not sure yet.

Boogie MkIII or MkIV combo w/EV EVM 12L.
Mesa Cab w/V30s
Ampeg 4x10 bass cab

Fulltone TTE
Boss CE-2 Chorus
Boss BF-2 Flanger

Re: If you could have just ONE rig..

Hmmm...

Tough call...

I'd have to have two guitars to cover all the bases & have a backup. Probably the swamp ash PRS which has a Custom 5, Vintage Rail & Jazz neck; and the other one would have to be the Schecter USA 3-pickup Tele which has a swamp ash body, flame maple neck and an Alnico II bridge, some kinda Duncan single coil in the center & a Duncan mini-bucker (Firebird style) in the neck with a 4-way switch.

Either of those paddles going into the '62 blonde/brown Bandmaster & Rivera 2x12 can do just about anything from legit country to ballz-out metal with a good sized collection of stompboxes at my disposal. Oh yeah, don't forget the power break or a Hot Plate...GOTTA have one of those so I don't go deaf & get kicked out of clubs for being too loud & physcadelic!

Re: If you could have just ONE rig..

-Brian Moore c90p.13
-Mesa Triaxis/2:90 and 2 2x12 cabs
-Eventide harmonizer 9000 (or whatever number they're up to now)
-some sort of custom pedalboard including: one Ernie Ball volume pedal eaach to control amount of delay, modulation, and master volume, and a Ground Control Pro.
-Some sort of badass synthesizer (ie not just a gr33 or vg88... not too fond of those...).

Re: If you could have just ONE rig..

Guitar: A hollowbody ash Strat with a hardtail and S-S-H config.

Amp: Bogner something

Re: If you could have just ONE rig..

Money-no-object, I'd just up the anti and get me a McCarty Soapbar and a boogie MkIV... and a really cool lead between them! (And a decent wah, I've never got on with my Jim Dunlop jobby.)

Re: If you could have just ONE rig..

I cannot settle for just ONE rig. I'd need two at any time, one for bass, one for guitar.

Guitar:
-Music Man Silhouette Special with some custom appointments and a different set of pickups;
-H&K Triamp Mk.II with the optional MSM-1 MIDI-interface, with matching H&K 4x12 with V30's;
-Boss GT-pro for FX;
-a proper MIDI-floorboard.

Bass:
-F-bass BN5;
-Ashdown ABM RPM1 EVO II met ABM APM1000 EVO II through either an ABM 810 T or through an ABM 410 T and an ABM 115 and full footswitching capability for the subharmonic generator, tube drive, mute switch and preshape filter;
-Trace Elliot dual band compressor.

Re: If you could have just ONE rig..

One guitar and one amp?

Any good Paula with the right neck profile: DiMarzio SuperDistortion in the bridge and some kind of PAF-type in the neck. OR a USA Dean ML with the same pup config. I'm REALLY digging that guitar:bigthumb:

1973-75 Marshall 1987 and a 4x12 with GBs or BBs. The right JMP/JCM 2204 (EL34s!) would do fine as well.

A goose...prolly something a bit more modern....something that doesn't compress or color the tone too much.... like a Barber DD.

ANALOG Chorus Pedal..CE-2 or similar.

ANALOG Phaser

Some kind of Analog delay or tape echo.

Don't really even need the delay to be honest...or the phaser...I can get by just fine with the chorus and goose.

Re: If you could have just ONE rig..

Just one rig? Hmm. How 'bout a Peterbuilt?

I'm actually pretty happy with what I've got now - Jackson SL2H with Livewires - but I'm looking to upgrade the amp. I'm looking at a JSX, so that would probably complete the setup. I'm not a big pedal person, but I'll hold off on saying no pedals until I try the SFX-03.
