If it really had to be just one, it would be either an Esquire, a LP Jr., or a 335/345/355 style. If the latter, it would be in the style of Lucille, with no f holes, and it would be white with two black P90's.

For me it has to be the tele platform.

You can have virtually any pickup, bridge and wood configuration you can think of
and it will still look good and be functional.

Superstrat. As much as I love Les Pauls, I feel that I need a superstrat type of guitar for some of the kinds of playing I do. With the superstrat body shape, I think you can approach other types of guitars -- you can take them in a very Strat-like direction, and you can also go with a thick mahogany body, carved maple cap, 22 frets, set mahogany neck, tune-o-matic bridge & stop-bar, angled headstock…

See where I'm goin' with this? And I would, if I had to. I'd have Jackson's custom shop making me SweeTones and virtual LP copies like crazy. In addition to Strat-head Charvel ripoffs with bolt-on necks and Strat trems.

Les Pauls. I'm not a very big guy and they just seem to fit me like a glove. I love the feel of them and everything about them. I've tried many different styles, but I always go back to a LP. All my guitars are quickly becoming mostly LP's too!

Superstrat. They just work the best for me overall. But, if I didn't give a !@#$ about anything like size and it's ability to be wielded, I'd go with an angular body type like a "V" or an Explorer body type.

Superstrat body style is just a comfy default overall.

I think I'd go with a 335 shape. It's not my favorite body style (that belongs to SG), nor the most useful for me (which would be a Tele), but I think I'd get the most practical use out of a 335.

My Steinberger, 'cause it is comfy. Other than that, I like a 'cut down' Strat shape, like a Music Man Silhouette Special. It is about 7/8ths of a Strat but lighter, with better contouring.

See, I dunno. I would've picked superstrat had I thought it warranted it's own category.

Double cutaway with a top horn that's bigger than the lower one = Strat-shaped in my mind. Seems to encompass superstrat-shaped.
