We're not going on how they sound, right?

Strat, all the way. The contours make is just so damn comfy.

Re: If you could only have ONE guitar body style, which would it be and why?

If we're going on how they sound with their classic pickup pairing, then it's a Tele. Nothing else in the guitar world is as versatile as a good Tele bridge pickup. And that's a ****ing fact.

If we're going on aesthetics then probably a Jazzmaster. From that list of options, anyway. I just love the look of those offset bodies.

If we're going on playability, then I'd have to go SG.

See, I dunno. I would've picked superstrat had I thought it warranted it's own category.

Double cutaway with a top horn that's bigger than the lower one = Strat-shaped in my mind. Seems to encompass superstrat-shaped.

I always thought so, too. Look at the classic Charvels -- the quintessential superstrats. They're basically Strats with loud pickups and Floyds. Ibanez RG, Jackson Dinky & Soloist, and plenty of others -- all Strat-shaped bodies with tummy cuts and forearm cuts, just with sharper edges and deeper cutaways.

After all these years of playing anything but, I went Tele, but I would opt for one with a tummy cut.

I voted Superstrat.

Yeah, I thought Strat/Superstrat should have been the catagory.
PRS should have been a seperate catagory since it's really an on-set double cutaway, not a off-set double cutaway.
To me, the PRS falls more in line with the Les Paul Double Cut and Hamer Studio than it does a Strat.

Well, fact...or opinion. A bridge HB (let's say in an LP) that does coil cut and parallel seems pretty versatile to me.

I was being intentionally hyperbolic. With the exception of the Stag Mag (which is kind of a gray area) Ive never actually heard a split humbucker tone that I found particularly pleasing, though. Certainly nothing that compares to even a mediocre Tele bridge pup.

Strat cause it is the most comfortable and resembles a womens curves:firedevil

What, are you a midget? Get a full size guitar, son.

Well, I *am* kinda short at 5'6"...and I learned to play guitar on a Strat. And the scale length of my favorite guitars is the same as a Strat. My acoustic choices are tiny too.

Considering I have four Vs...

Some people aren't tiny, but still prefer smaller/lighter guitars.

Here's an older pic of me with a BC Rich Virgin:

(Hmm, I might have had Duncans in it at that time. :D )

I voted Tele, because it's the one choice that gives you everything you need but will continue to surprise and show you new things forever.

Re: If you could only have ONE guitar body style, which would it be and why?

Les Pauls seem to have the best design for TONE. The combination of woods, the size, the pickups, the hardware - everything contributes to that. It can produce both the sweetest and the heaviest tones.

But for playability, overall comfort and versatility nothing beats an HSH superstrat. You have to compromise on tone but they just feel great and you can play everything on them. I've never tried a guitar with better playability and greater overall comfort than my Ibanez S5470.

OK, you know what? I gave you ****ers a chance. I did. But you have failed me.

So I'm just gonna say it.

Everyone who DIDN'T say "Telecaster" is ****ing WRONG.

Re: If you could only have ONE guitar body style, which would it be and why?

As much as I dig SG's and Les Pauls, I have to say Strats. My Frankenstrat is like and old pair of jeans, just super comfortable. Plus, I can put whatever pickup configuration I want in it.

Too each their own. I just can't gel with a tele, let alone strat or SG. I tried so many times, but always come back to a LP. For playability, comfort, look, feel, tone, etc it all comes back to a LP for me.

I can picture this being said by a totally wasted guy on a bar stool, slurring his words and waving his arms around.
