I love Les Pauls...got 4 right now. The look, feel and tone. But my 336 just does it for me now. It's made like a chambered LP, def hear some LP tones in there, but it has that semi hollow honk and the cleans are sublime. This KS has a ebony neck like a Custom which I love, about 2# lighter than my LPs and is a joy to play...but body style, I'd go with LP. The only chambered LP I've owned lacked tone...I don't dislike the 336 shape, it's very kool.

les paul all the way. I'm doing a great job of having only les pauls. 25 les pauls, 1 strat, 1 sg. ;)

it's the weight, feel, looks, tone, everything. Tonight it's a jazzgig with my LP custom, but tomorrow it's a heavy metal gig, with the exact same guitar, and next week it's a bluesrock festival, and the day after that a punk-gig. No guitar can do all that, with the same pickups, withouth compromise. to me, anyway.

+1. Nice LP to Strat ratio! :14:

gotta go with tele. i love my strats, sg's, and 335's but a tele wins every time

Re: If you could only have ONE guitar body style, which would it be and why?

it was on the front page for some reason, didnt even look at the date

Re: If you could only have ONE guitar body style, which would it be and why?

Look, I'm a Strat player through and through. Always have been and always will be, but lets be real. There is only one Standard of all guitars ever made, and thats the Les Paul.
So despite what i love/ what i plaY.. I vote Les Paul hands down without even thinking twice.

Heh, Superstrats are beating Les Pauls. Sometimes , and I hate to say this, but the cesspool backs up on this forum.
And I love Superstrats, but get real..anyone who votes for a Superstrat over a Paul is functionally brain dead.

Some kind of superjazzmaster with 2 humbuckers and the classic pickguard. Specifically maybe a sherwood green or ocean turquoise(ehrmahgerdd) with matching head and tortoise pickguard cut out for some duncans or dimarzios wood mounted of course, no pickup rings. Too specific?

Reason is, I always was a sucker for fenders and I guess its part of my nature and I can't change it. Jazzmaster was my first guitar, and I had to get the more economic j mascis jazzmaster due to some money I had to spend as a teen when I was saving up for my ocean turquoise one. But i'm still glad I bought it, I do love it, and it has an awesome scale lenth. It's big but not heavy. Upper frets are super accessible. And it's got fender style. You either love it or leave it. I love them just the way they are, but they could use a pickupgrade, yes thats a hybrid word. lol

Choosing one is just silly talk. I'll go with two. The strat and McCarty. IMO, those are the two most ergonomic guitars with the most sensible electronic layouts.

As much as I'm tempted to go with tele, I can't get around the electronic layout with the switch being too close to the volume, which is too far from the bridge pickup. I actually use strat switch tips on teles, just so they're easier to switch.

Re: If you could only have ONE guitar body style, which would it be and why?

Can't say it's my favourite style visually, but the old PRS Custom's (22/24). Probably the most comfortable body design ever. The problemk is that only ones I've ever been able to try out had the Wide-Fat neck which my hands hate.

Other than that I've got a guitar in the works that is designed for my body and playing style that I like the looks and ergonomics of.

In the period since posting that, I subsequently bought a PRS with a pattern thin neck that I am really happy with.

Carry on.

Carry on.

Re: If you could only have ONE guitar body style, which would it be and why?

It was very hard to choose between the SG and the telecaster, so the tie breaker was that since I could have only ONE, the SG for it's double cutaway and eastier fret access. Seriously a tough call though.

Re: If you could only have ONE guitar body style, which would it be and why?

It would probably be a LP or Tele.

I'll go with Tele but with a neck humbucker and bridge single coil ala Keef.

Re: If you could only have ONE guitar body style, which would it be and why?

strat or similar like my jackson DK which is a strat based shape.
why? it is the closest looking to a womens figure and most comfortable to lay standing or sitting:fing2:
