If you could only have one pedal

Re: If you could only have one pedal

For me it would be the Ibanez Weeping Demon Wah pedal, every day of the week.

I just love everything about that pedal. All the things you can adjust on it. The auto-off when foot's off the pedal. And to me it's the best sounding wah I've ever heard.

Just one? How's about two pedals? I haven't come across THE pedal that has done IT for me. An overdrive? A chorus pedal?

Hmmmm...I'm assuming a processor-pedalboard doesn't count (such as the Boss GTs or Line 6 PODs)...I would say it's a tough one between the Metal Muff or the Tube Screamer...when im just going through a tube amp I love the gain sounds I get out of those depending on whether or not Im going for high or low gain...

The question should have allowed two responses.

First, I am still extremely pleased with my Full Drive 2. It is a versatile pedal with boost. For delay and chorus on the cleans I'm still satisfied with a
Visual Sound H20. Have had the V2 for several years and just purchased the V3. We are still on the honeymoon. It is a definite improvement over the V2.

The pedal that switches the amp's channels... clean *click* dirty *click* more dirtier...

Re: If you could only have one pedal

Currently, it has to be my Bogner Blue as it does a much better job of getting the amp sound I want than the 3 amps I own.

In general though, I like a dry signal and use effects as effects, not a mainstay of my sound. So I could live without pedals, but thankfully do not need to. I lov echo and phase as color, too much.

Byoc ODII with the mosfet mod, mids switch in the middle and diode clipping switch off. Best pedal I own.

Re: If you could only have one pedal

Runoffgroove designed and made a JFET treble booster a while ago, with an adjustable 'range' control.

With an echoplex buffer work-alike I suspect this will be my desert island pedal. It's #7 out of 7 pedals I have to build/modify right now though... I will know before February but after some soul searching my desert island pedal right now is my malekko ekko 616. Even though it can't match my fatpants for boost it's got a great sound and is way more versatile than a 'more' pedal like the EP booster clone i have.

I do like me some tremolo pedals too though.
