if you could only have one

Re: if you could only have one

My Edwards LP (soon to have Jimmy Page wiring) -> PodXT -> Atomic Reactor

That will keep me busy...

Re: if you could only have one

i will go for a white limba tele-shaped body with double-cutaways of a lp jr, 25" scale white limba neck and brazilian rosewood board, p-90s and an orange ad30 with 2x12 cab.

Re: if you could only have one

My RI 0 Gibby through a Suhr OD-50 (coming out very soon) through a G12H30 equipped Bogner oversized 2x12.

Re: if you could only have one

I'd have an American Strat, sunburst with a maple neck. Cool Rails neck, Vintage Rails in the middle and Hot Rails in the bridge.

Amp would be an AC-30. Nuff Said.

Re: if you could only have one

Custom Schecter with Humbucker, single, humbucker with classic rock voiced pickups and a coil tap. and a groove tube 50watt head and matching cab. The rig I wish I could afford. I play classic rock and practicaly nothing else so that should keep me in tonal nirvana for a long time.

Re: if you could only have one

Mine would be a thick bodied Mahogany/Ash Strat with a fat Maple neck and fretboard with a Bareknuckle Alnico IV Mule in the bridge and neck, and a Bareknuckle Irish Tour in the middle.

The 2 humbuckers would have coil taps so i could get Les Paul style and pseudo Strat tones.

Amp would be an Orange AD30 head and a 4x12 cab.

Re: if you could only have one

Defintely a Gibson..most likely a Les Paul...Wine Red. I've got no issue with a production Standard or a Classic as long as it's a good one with a nice piece of wood (tone-wise)... plain top is jes fine with me too. PUP's...hmm... tough....a Custom or the 500T both suit my needs in the bridge...neck would need to be a 59 or Seth or similar. Nickel covers or Zebras are both fine. Nickel hardware and GOTTA HAVE A PICKGUARD! :D (creme...and creme rings/selector plate)

Amps: I"m REALLY diggin my Rivera Chubster 40. Gets me classic JMP MV to 800 crunch (and more), modded marshall boost, and great (but not exquisite) cleans. I'd be plenty happy with it, and the addition of a extension 2x12 (closed back...Celestions, prolly G12h30's or GB's).

For pedals, my MXR Phase 90, Boss CE-2 and a TS9 will do. I'd like a nice analog delay too.

Basically...what I have is what I'd choose.

Re: if you could only have one

See my signature I guess...

My HM strat with my Mesa DC-10 :headbang:

Re: if you could only have one

id go witha lp with custom/custom bridge and pearly gates neck. coil splitting for both, through a vintage marshall plexi. wired with some quality cable, of course. it wouldnt cover all the tonal bases, but boy that would be one nice tone.

Re: if you could only have one

I'm happy with my sig, but I'm leaning towards a Gibson MIII and a Marshall TSL 100 head and 4x12. I could cover just about any style with that.

Re: if you could only have one

A 1959 Les Paul Standard and a Blackface Fender Super Reverb. The Humbukers (PAF's) are absolutley the best sound PUPS I have ever heard. I have been privileged to be able to play several burts....... there is a reason the sell for over $200,000.

Re: if you could only have one

59 Historic Lester
Fender Hotrod (or any tube Fender with a Presence control) with Svetlana Winged C 6L6's...

Re: if you could only have one

A fender strat with S/S/H,
Cool rails in the neck, vintage rails in mid and a JB or 59' in the bridge

Re: if you could only have one

I think I could live with my Road King head and if I had the matching Cab (would give me all the amp and cab configurations I'd need for my musical moods) and the guitar would most likely be my Phiga Hybrid. It's not my favorite, but it's semi hollow, with a twanger bar (and soon to be fitted with piezos). versatile enough. mindset seems to be the biggest influence to me on my tone. I'll never get single coil twang out of the Humbuckers, but, that's the set up that'd work for the rest of my life, no matter what style I feel like, the sound will be more than good enough for me.

The only complaint I have about the Road King is that 30 watts is it's minimum. if 30 watts were it's maximum, and I could choke it down from there...

Just my thought on it.
