If you had 720 bucks...

Re: If you had 720 bucks...

groove tube combos sound pretty good, and they're in that range..

or you could buy my vetta 2 for a few dollars more...lol..sorry, shameless self promotion ;)

Re: If you had 720 bucks...

i'd save up for $80 bucks more and buy one of the first Celtic Franklin's!!!

Re: If you had 720 bucks...

Toss in another couple hundred and buy a Zinky Blue Velvet 1X12 combo.

You never said we couldn't *add* more money to what we have already. :)

Re: If you had 720 bucks...

If I was a gigging rocker and wanted an overdriven rock tone I'd get a used '82 Marshall JCM 800 50 watt 2 x 12 combo amp.

If I was a gigging blues or country or jazz player than I might look for a '74 silverface Fender Super Reverb or Pro Reverb.

If I played blues, country or jazz mostly at home I'd probably look for a Fender Deluxe Reverb.

I would not buy anything new...I'd buy used and get twice the amp for the same money.

I'm not sure what he's asking, but my brother in law is selling his Peavey XXX 2x12 combo.

Where are you located? He's in Cali.

Re: If you had 720 bucks...

nah, just was interested in seeing everybody's tastes. The 74 pro reverb is intriguing though.

Im sure you guys already know that im pretty much a blues/classic rock/jazz purist, i actually have a Deluxe reverb in mind and will try to negotiate my way down to the lower 700's in price. My gameplan is to try and ride out the warranty without mods, then pop in 6L6's and a Weber California 12 inch speaker.

Re: If you had 720 bucks...

I'd hunt around and buy the nicest sounding used Fender amp I could afford.

Gimme two weeks and I should be able to offer a Franklin 15 and 30. Pretty close to the same price.

Thanks for noticing.

Re: If you had 720 bucks...
