Gibson V
New Charvel San Dimas 2H
Soloist

Edwards Sykes

Re: If you had a million dollars....

1. I use $560 of it to build another Gibson Flying w/ P-90 Project.

2. $300,000 to buy a house.

3. Put the rest in the bank.

Re: If you had a million dollars....

Guitar wise.... I would get the PRS private stock department to make me a guitar based on the CE24 maple top.

I would also get a Hiwatt amp, and an amazing PA system to run my mesa through.

Besides that, I don't see what else I would get guitar wise. I think I would deck my bandmates out pretty well though. My brother who plays keys would get a grand piano for sure. Bass_Bear would get a Fodera of his choice, along with a Mesa Big Block Titan V12 and 8x10 cab.

Re: If you had a million dollars....

A million on music gear only?

I'd start with a 59 and a 60 Les Paul, Lookin at $200K for nice players
52 Fender Telecaster Beat to hell $20K
Pre-War Martin D-45 Most likely $150K
Pre War Martin D-28 Around $25K
Gibson Loyd Loar F-5 $75K
20 New Les Paul Standards various colors $60K
5 New Les Paul Customs various colors $20K
5 Marshall DSL full stacks $10K
5 Marshall JCM900 full stacks $10K
5 Marshall JCM800 full stacks $15K
5 Marshall JMP full stacks $20K
5 Marshall Silver Jubilee full stacks $25K

If I added that right, should be around $630K. I guess I would spend the rest on every vintage and boutique pedal I could find......................

The reason I put "guitar wise" is because this is "The guitar shop"..

I didn't want someone saying, "Wrong forum douche"..

I thought you were saying how would you spend a million on music gear only.

If I had a million and could spend it on whatever, I would just end up with around 5 more used LP's, a set of cabs for a full stack and one each of the Marshall heads I listed. Probablly buy a used D-42 and a newer used HD-28LSV and a cheaper beater tele. Well under $25K for everything.

I'd then buy some property on a year round flowing spring fed creek close enough to the source for a water supply. I'd build a small concrete dam with a small turbine capable of producing my electricity, build a quanset style underground house, nothing too big and invest in geothermal heating. No bills what-so-ever other than luxury stuff, like sattelite and internet and phone. I could do all that for less than $200K with at least 100 acres.

The rest? I would keep $250K in an account hat acrues interest and the rest I would use to invest in gold and silver since our currency is becoming more worthless by the day...................... but that's just me............

Re: If you had a million dollars....

i'd buy a bunch of pedal kits and pedals,
a few of each choice warmoth bodies(double necks, les pauls, teles, etc(in every wood type/pickup routing, but only make 5 with floyds:laughing:) along with all the parts you'd need to build them
about 10 les paul copies of all different types(washburn idols, schecter tempests, dean caddies, etc)
about 10 amp heads(too many to mention) and 15 cabinets from avatar(5 of each 1x12, 2x12, 4x12)
an ampeg bass amp
a jazz bass(yes, just a single bass!)
100 guitar straps
a ton of pots and caps(orange drops and PIOs)
10,000 magnets
a pickup winder
all the parts needed to build pickups
new drum heads
a handful of digital keyboards
a slew or recording gear(new computer, interface, pro tools, monitors, wall padding, mics, the works:smokin:)
and to carry my stuff around, a crossover:fing2:

Way to take a million bucks and make it worthless!

Just givin' ya a hard time man. :haha:

Re: If you had a million dollars....

har har i don't even know how much that stuff is worth, but i bet the crossover is what made it all worthless:lmao::chairshot

Actually I was thinking more about taking a million dollars and turning it into Warmoth bodies and Les Paul copies.............. You need to find a career as a CEO....... hahahahaha

Re: If you had a million dollars....

hey man, why not? i seriously find all the guitars i mentioned alot easier to play than les pauls(mostly in high fret access), and have very similar tone(the les paul copies i mean, not the warmoths). plus, they look different! i like les pauls and all, but i can't stand seeing them so often, they're so generic these days;)

Re: If you had a million dollars....

A couple of Brian Moore Guitars custom shop 7 strings
A couple of Jackson Guitars custom shop 7 strings.
Don't really have a use for a whole lot of guitars to be honest.
I'd spent much more on the rig side of things and a serious recording setup.
You gotta keep a few hundred bucks left over for spare strings too;)
