If you had a million dollars....

Re: If you had a million dollars....

i'd buy a bunch of pedal kits and pedals,
a few of each choice warmoth bodies(double necks, les pauls, teles, etc(in every wood type/pickup routing, but only make 5 with floyds:laughing:) along with all the parts you'd need to build them
about 10 les paul copies of all different types(washburn idols, schecter tempests, dean caddies, etc)
about 10 amp heads(too many to mention) and 15 cabinets from avatar(5 of each 1x12, 2x12, 4x12)
an ampeg bass amp
a jazz bass(yes, just a single bass!)
100 guitar straps
a ton of pots and caps(orange drops and PIOs)
10,000 magnets
a pickup winder
all the parts needed to build pickups
new drum heads
a handful of digital keyboards
a slew or recording gear(new computer, interface, pro tools, monitors, wall padding, mics, the works:smokin:)
and to carry my stuff around, a crossover:fing2:

Wouldn`t it be more effective to just burn the money instead?:laugh2::beerchug:

Re: If you had a million dollars....

I'd Buy an american strat, jazz bass and a amberburst Les paul. A nice marshall 1/2 stack, and call it a day.

Re: If you had a million dollars....

Ain't any way you'd get one for that...the beaters of the bunch go for $200,000 nowadays, and the nice ones go for around $275,000...unless you know someone who'd give you a KILLER deal.

I got a buddy in Brentwood who deals alot of Prewar Gibson and Martin stuff. Right now he's sitting on 3 of ht eprewar D-45's. Last few Loars he's ran across were in the 75K real money range. My aunt got one from an individual a couple of years ago for 50K and turned it for 65.

Hell, I'm tickled to death when I can afford to jump on a good deal to make a hundred bucks on.....................

It's nice to know people who won't charge what the market will bear...on Mandolin Cafe I see them once or twice a year for $220,000 or more.

One of the former teachers here where I work had one willed to him by his Grandpa...Feb. 22 1922. He let me take it home overnight and I wailed on it for over four hours. Good stuff in those Loars. It was almost surreal to play a mando worth more than every single thng I own put together.

If I had enough $$$ I'd go for a Wayne Henderson F-5...Doc Watson was quoted as saying his were as good as any Loar he'd ever touched, and he's played quite a few Loars.

Re: If you had a million dollars....

Can't believe I am going to be the first to put Anderson on my list...

3 or 4 Anderson classics a few more hollow classics...(assorted pickup configurations)
Assorted Suhr S4 and S5's (maybe an anniversary edition)
PRS Custom 22 and 24
PRS SC245 (McCarty Burst)
Parket NiteFly and Fly Mojo (with Flame Top)
That would meet most of my guitar needs...

Assorted Bogner and Rivera amps.... Studio Gear, and a TON of pedals....

DONE!

Re: If you had a million dollars....

I would buy a Les Paul Standard and a Marshall JVM and with the $100 left over I could go out to dinner.

Re: If you had a million dollars....

I don't think I could spend a the whole sum...all I would get is:

Bogner Ecstacy with a metal faceplate
a few custom Jackson Soloists

I have the other amps/guitars I like.

...ehh, maybe some more recording gear

And at least one of every pickup Seymour Duncan makes including the custom shop.

Re: If you had a million dollars....

I don't really have a list, but imagine the joy of browsing around in stores with nice used and vintage guitars and being able to buy anything that really take your fancy... without having to worry about sneaking it in past the missus :)

Re: If you had a million dollars....

*Variety of Mesas and Marshalls.
*Gibson LP Reissues, Traditionals, and Classics.
*Original 1959 LP Burst.
*PRS McCartys, Singlecuts, and Hollowbody IIs.
*Fender Strats and Teles.
*Taylor, Martin, and Guild Acoustics.
*Some Pedals.......

I'd go crazy with a Mill........ :eyecrazy: :naughty:

I think I'd sock it away for me and mine...I have what I need; what I really need is more leisure time to practice.

Re: If you had a million dollars....

I would buy a relic strat, a vintage vox and fender, a vintage marshall full stack and a vintage les paul.

then I would donate the remaining money to charity.

Re: If you had a million dollars....

-Epiphone Les Paul Studio in vintage sunburst as a beater LP and put some duncans in it, either a JB/Jazz or JB/'59 combo.

-Black Gibson Les Paul Standard upgraded with duncans, probably a Custom/Jazz or Custom/'59 combo

-Black Fender American Deluxe Telecaster with STL-3/STR-3 combo.

-A good tube amp for nice cleans and overdrive and a good solid state amp for medium to heavy gain

-A high end acoustic-electric, probably a Taylor or Gibson

-American Vintage '75 Jazz bass

-Geddy Lee Jazz Bass

Re: If you had a million dollars....

I'd fill a storage unit with vintage guitars and all the Ken Fischer designed amps I could get my hands on.

Re: If you had a million dollars....

I'd build a state of the art studio, fill it with Marshalls and get loud, really really loud.:11:
