Re: If You Had To Choose...

I've tried to like Mesa's...really I have! I had a .50 caliber+ and a studio preamp, sold them both. I've played Recto's and RoadKings but bought a Splawn. I like the way other people sound with them! I've heard the Vintage Modern and liked it........

I guess my tone of choice lies in the Marshall vein....

Between these 2, I chose the Marshall.

Had you listed different models, I probably would have chosen the Mesa.

Re: If You Had To Choose...

Had to go with the Marshall VM on this one.

I just can't get along with Mesa stuff. It's good stuff, but none of IT has liked ME.

Me too. I've tried different Mesa models, and I know they are good amps, but Marshall VM, and the 'Marshall sound', in general, talks to me. Hope to own a VM someday!

I also have heard some people sound fantastic w/their Mesa amps. Why it doesn't work for me...?? :banghead:

Re: If You Had To Choose...

The only new Boogie I have played thru was the Lonestar, so I can't comment on the Boogie.

I have played thru the Vintage modern. In fact I posted a thread about it. Its a decent amp, but not really what I was after. In all Honesty I would not buy either. I wound up buying a Komet 60. The best amp I have ever played thru. This is an amp that may not be for everybody, but it works really well for me.
