If you had your own signature guitar...

Which:
1. Company would you choose
2. Pickups would you have
3. Strings and guage would you have
4. Finish options

I would have an Ibanez custom Biu RG99999999
There would be two models. 1st would be a Blood-Red AAAAA Flamed Maple finish and the other would be Cerulean Blue AAAAA Quilted Maple top. Of course, there could be a beat up solid color one, every guitarist's gotta have a beater guitar!

The Red one would have a DiMarzio Super Distortion in bridge, a Virtual Vintage Blues in mid, and a PAF Pro in Neck.

The Blue one would have a DiMarzio Tone Zone in bridge and a PAF Pro in the neck.

The Beater version would have a Seymour Duncan Full Shred in bridge and Jazz in the neck.

Yowza! Those would be some sweet guitars!

What would you guys have?

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

1. Company would you choose

Tough choice ... I'd probably go with Godin or some other company that would be willing to faithfully recreate my design and improve upon it (with my consent of course)

2. Pickups would you have

Simple - SD's all the way. They'd probably mass produce them with JB/'59's instead of my usual Full Shred/'59 combo to make it more attractive

3. Strings and guage would you have

Whatever the factory set up was for those made. On my own I'd be using my usual sets

4. Finish options

Everything please

As long as they make 6 and 7 string versions I'm happy

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

Fender or G&L would be building my custom guitar, and it would drip Fender style but it wouldn't be any of their standard shapes (no Strats or Mustangs or whatever) Probably an offset Strat-style thing (Jazz bass as guitar?), with a C5 in the bridge and a quarterpounder in the neck. Hardtail stringthru blah blah blah.

Strings would be whatever...Fender bullets? sure, okay

There'd be black with black pickguard, graffiti yellow with pearloid, and a solid white with no pickguard. Oh and surf green with tortoise!!

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

1. Langley
2. EMG 89/SA/SA w/SPC
3. TransTrem-calibrated D'Addario XL .10s
4. black, blacker and "None more black!"

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

Hmm...Tom Anderson, Tyler, Melancon, or maybe Music Man

Too many tough choices

SD pickups.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

1.BC Rich Ironbird
2.DiMarzio PAF Pro in the bridge and Neck.
3.EB 10-52s Heavy Bottoms
4.White,Flat Black,Nickle with matching headstocks and no fretmarkers.

1. G&L, and the model would be a S-500, with a mahogany body.
2. G&L, MFD single coils.
3. DR, Pure Blues 11-50.
4. Vintage White.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

I am not sure about the brand, as long as they can make it good! I would either want a set necked mahogany super strat or an explorer with a 25.5" scale neck. Nothing too mad! May want a bolt on alder bodied guitar instead though. I am not sure about the pickups, something tight and mediumly balanced eq in bridge and a very warm neck pup. I would stick with my trusty Ernie Ball Power Slinky 11-48. Would have a variety of finishes, some solid, some quilted tops with nice classy binding!

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

1. Gibson Explorer ('84 style with no pickguard, and different control& toggle placement)
2. DD/59
3. GHS 11s
4. White

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

easy

1. Gibson.... LES PAUL CUSTOM in NIckel hardware and a 60's slim taper neck with grover tuners and pearloid dot inlays
2.Seymour Duncans jb/59 combo
3. Ernieball skinny top and heavy bottoms .10-.52
4. Available in black, wine red, alpine white, satin brown ( hehe) and silver burst ( only available to me and not sold to public! HEHE)

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

DEFINETLY a fender strat. (i've thought about this one before)

neck: birdseye maple neck with a BUEATIFUL grain and nice tint w/ a bone nut (nice tone for open chording), (can you do that?) no inlay except for the 3rd, 7th, and 12th fret with diamond shaped abalone dots :32: (all about the neck)

body: alder with a some kind of 2 tone burst and some of the laquer(or poly) sanded off so it's mostly dull. (this way, when someone looks at this guitar they are mostly focused on this bueatiful neck) i've heard it also sounds better if you do that.

hardware: gold w/ no trem

pickups: some kind of low output vintage strat pickups

strings: i like fenders super 250s

'course i'd have another one just like it with a bright red burst with a AAA flamed maple top.

nobody mentioned their own guitar? hmm...

edit: forgot the strings

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

oh, the fun i'll have on this one! :D

here i go:

Guitar:
either ibanez or jackson, i'd have 4 models of my guitar, with each available as a 7 string! the first model would have an alder body with an AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA quilted maple top. with a Dimarzio super distortion in bridge(i've grown to love it!) and an air norton in neck. with a floyd rose pro tremolo with a deep cavity for maximum pullage(think steve vai) :D there would be a really light finishe in a deep rose red color. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA birdseye maple neck with a brazilian rosewood fretboard. gold hardware, 1 volume and 1 tone and a 3 way toggle switch. schaller straplocks, grover tuners, cross inlay at 12th and 24th fret, LED side markers. thats the first guitar, now onto the 2nd!!

2nd model would be made of mahogany, with an AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA quilted maple top, satin finish, gold hardware, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA birdseye maple neck with flame maple fretboard. H-H pickup configuration, Duncan Custom bridge and '59 neck, floyd rose pro, 1 volume 1 tone 3-way toggle switch. cherry sunburst.

3rd guitar:
hollow body es-335 type body made out of flame maple, ebony fretboard w/ block inlays, grover imperial tuners, cherry sunburst, birdseye maple neck, gold hardware, seth lover bridge and neck pickups, 2 volume, 2 tone, 3-way toggle. that's my jazz, blues guitar.

4th guitar:

this is the totally insane shred guitar!!
basswood body, ibanez RG shape, black color, ebony fretboard, dot inlays, birdseye maple neck, black hardware, floyd rose pro, 1 volume 1 tone 3-way toggle switch.
Duncan Custom bridge, hot rails middle, full shred neck!

and they all would be available as a 7 string, except for the ES-335.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

I'd have to have like 3-5.

25.5 scale
Smaller heel
JB/59 combo
Black with chrome hardware a la Brisk

PRS Custom 24
Neck thru
TOM with angled neck
Mohogany body with solid rosewood neck
Black dye on 10 top
Cream binding and Pickup rings
Full Shred/Full Shred set
Vol/Vol/3 way switch, with each volume having push/pull for splitting

Ibanez Sabre Custom
Mohogany body and maple neck
Ebony fingerboard
Kahler trem, raised, so neck is angled
JB/Hot Rails/Hot Rails set
Vol/vol/tone/5 way switch, one volume is push/pull to add neck pickup to any combo

Fender Strat
22 Frets
American 2 point fulcrum trem
natural, swamp ash
70's headstock shape
Black pickguard
Same pickups as in fender lite strat...this sounds exactly like it save the headstock...

And gimme my damn Schecter too!!! I love it! Could use a JB in bridge though...

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

wow mine seems pretty simple compared to most of these.

As for the company, i would say fender or G&L

I would just have a swamp ash tele, vintage hardware and duncan antiquities. It would have to have a maple neck maybe a little birds eye or some flame on the neck. very light hand rubbed nitro finish. availible in black with a white guard and white blonde with a black guard.

Re: If you had your own signature guitar...

I'd have two:
1A. Gibson Custom LP
1B. Fender 57 style Strat
2A. SD 59 bridge & SD JB neck
2B. SD 59 bridge & neck
3A&B. Ernie Ball Slinkys (9-45s)
4A. Dark, transparent red w/ all black hardware & black binding & inlay on a rosewood fret board. Standard wiring.
4B. two-tone burst with an aged white pickguard, chrome hardware, string-thru hardtail and a 57's style maple one piece neck. controls would go Volume-Tone with a three way gibson toggle between the two on the controls.

2. Duncan SPB-1 & SJB-3

4. Black Jazz bass body with a P-bass & J-bass pickup routing in the body, red tortoise pickguard, black hardware, A-width P-bass Maple Neck w/ Black Block inlay (like a 73 J-bass), Bad Ass II bridge and Black Schaller Tuners

bass two:
1. Fender 50's P-bass
2. Duncan SPB-1 & SJB-1
3. Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys (45-105)
4. two-tone sunburst with the black ameoba pickguard, regular ole' 50's maple neck, fender american string through bridge, routed for P&J pickups & the chrome covers... drool....

Suhr Strat the same thing as above but with an emg81, with a TOM bridge

Gibson almost did it perfect for me with the SG. The only thing I would want would be.
1)ebony fret boards with no inlays
2)string thru body
3)Duncan pups
4)see-thru satin black finish
5)no pickguard
