Brother, I think you've had one too many Girl Scout cookies...

For me? It would have to be a Parker, or better yet, one from

www.melanconguitars.com

(that's: meh-lawn-saw(n)...the 'n' is silent for some folks)

He's a luthier from Houma, La, approximately 90 miles from here on the open road (about 90 minutes). He custom winds the pickups as well.

i think i'd have to go with ESP...i've been on the fence about ordering a custom shop ESP for a long time but since they take 8 months to build it keeps me from doing it.

I'd have one signature Reverend with Fralin P-90s and another with SD '59s

Ernie Ball period, a Axis with Dimarzio breeds or evo's and with a carved top, purple quilt top. Yes purple. I'm not gay either so shut it.

Jackson's USA Series is perfect for me, no reason to even have a signature guitar. All my requirements are there.

Re: If you have a signature Guitar, which company?

I'd stay with my favorite two guitars, Gibson LP and Fender Strat.

The Les Paul would be a 3 pickup Black Beauty Custom with light gray binding, and dull nickel hardware instead of gold. Unlike the one I currently own, it would also have a black maple top, rather than solid mahogany, and I'd opt for a rosewood fretboard instead of the Custom's ebony board. I'd have a slightly overwound Custom 5 and two Antiquity neck pickups, all with antiquity tarnished nickel covers.

The strats would follow the theme of my reverse metallic blueburst strat with engine turned aluminum guard, except all my signature strats would come in different shades of reverse metallic finishes like pewter, blue, maroon, and dark gold.......all reverse metallic, which means it's darker in the center, getting lighter toward the edges.

Man i loved those things in the late 80's!!!! loved the idea you could special order your name in the 21 fret marker.... Believe that was a Godin Company was it not..

Anyways i love the quality of work GODIN has going these days! They are doing some fine work and if i was ever an artist with enough fans to have a company ask me for a signature model i would go with them if i could..... My idea would be an affordable guitar that most people and fans could really afford but still be top quality..... kind of like the Solidac model.... Best guitar i have bought for less then $900Canadian

Re: If you have a signature Guitar, which company?

As much as I love my ESP guitar, I would only make a deal with jackson. I'd probably steal somewhat from ESP though, I like one of their japanese RR-styled guitars with the weird bevels and the strange outputs on it. I'd like it as a KV though, thank you very much...with some transformers logos on it since they're the sweetest things ever, probably have something sweet as a fretboard inlay too, I hate dots.

Re: If you have a signature Guitar, which company?

As much of a cop out this sounds, I don't think I'd go for an endorsement if I didn't have to. I don't like the idea of someone ponying up money to play something beacuse I do.

i already did "ask"...credit card in hand i was on the phone with a dealer going over ideas and specs etc...then i asked half way through ordering..."how long is that wait? is it actually 8 months like the site says?"....him "oh yeah, it is about 8 months or so, but to be honest some come sooner and some even take longer"....me "is there any way to get it faster...anyway at all?"....him "no"....me "i'll have to think this over, sorry to waste your time but i can't wait that long."...him "your not the first one to say that." etc etc
(it went something like that)

i knew it said it on the site but i figured hell they just put it there to shut people up and they make them faster than that. well i was wrong lol. if i decide i can wait i'll do it but waiting 8 months for a guitar is just not something i'm capable of doing...hell 4 months is pushing it even hahaha.

oh and my plan is a reverse headstock, neck through, all mahogany body and neck with an ebony board, string through body MII. i'll order it eventually but now is not the time sice i can't handle the wait lol.

Re: If you have a signature Guitar, which company?

I fantasize about being in a guitar mag and saying I play a Stew Mac body with a Warmoth neck, not giving credit to any of the big companies with their $2,000 price tags. I'm bitter, I know.

But you know what, the first company that approached me to make a signature, I'd probably crumble and say let's go for it, as long as it wasn't a piece of crap or have stuff on it I really didn't use or like. How embarrasing would it be to have a guitar with your name on it that didn't stay in tune, or had feedback from hell?

Re: If you have a signature Guitar, which company?

Ed Roman. Christian told me about that guy and wow, I can't wait to cough up a couple thousand dollars for one :). But if I had a signature guitar, I'd probably have to be a strat (American Fender, obviously). I love Les Pauls, but I'm a strat guy deep down. Not an S/S/S strat man, and not completely a H/H/H strat man either. I'd probably go with a black strat with a maple neck/freboard and one of Ed Roman's trem systems, with a white H/S/H pickguard, and Sperzel locking tuners. 500k CTS pots, cream Duncan Custom in bridge, white hot rails bridge in middle, and a cream '59 or something in the neck. It'd be a pretty simple/straightforward guitar. But I'd have Jimmy Vaughan's wiring, with no tone control for the hotrail, only for the bridge/neck pickups. I'd somehow want it to be a 24 fret strat, and I may just go with a mahogany/limba body. Oh yeah, graphite nut and Fender/Schaller straplocks for that baby too. No trem cover either.

Jackson USA or EBMM.

Re: If you have a signature Guitar, which company?

Gibson For sure.

This is my dream:

Gibson SG
Flame maple AAAA top
Mahogany body that's a little bit thicker than usual.

Multi-ply binding on headstock w/ 5 piece diamond inlay, grover tunners
Binding on neck
Dunlop 6100 frets
Brass nut
24 frets
Mother of pearl inlays or Split diamond inlays (you can choose)

3-way switch 2 Volume; 2 Tone
Seymour Duncan SH-13 in bridge; SH-10 in Neck

I can't decide if I want a pickguard or not. If I did get it with a pickguard, then it would be a mirrior one.

*Sigh* one day...one day....
