If you want to your amp to sound tighter, you use a TS9 . . . right ?

If you are playing heavy Blues, Blues Rock, Classic Rock, 80's Metal and modern metal and you want to tighten your amp, 99% of guitar players use an Ibanez TS9 / 808.
So, here is my question :
Is there an OD pedal on the market that tightens your amp way more than the humble TS9 ?
I am looking for a pedal to tighten an amp as much as technology can currently allow.

Much Appreciated.

the boss sd1 was the first pedal i used for that. there are a fair number of pedals that work for this, but an eq pedal is a great thing. boost certain frequencies, cut others, and boost level if ya want. a range master will tighten the bottom for sure

The metal crowd highly recommends these 2

Amptweaker- Tight Drive / Tight Metal:
Horizon Devices - precision drive.

They are ultra tight.

"the first modern overdrive made by guitar players for guitar players"

"redefines the boundaries of the standard “overdrive” with enhanced tone sculpting and advanced tone stacks"

Somebody needs to tell the marketing uncles that this is a turnoff.

These are particularly bad examples, I agree. AI, I am guessing. Thing is...how do you describe an overdrive using words that haven't been used a million times. Also considering, describing sound generally doesn't work.

'Yeah I see that. I was just a bit floored by these two one after another :)

"As much as technology can currently allow" would be a flexible EQ pedal. I like the VFE Standout for such purposes.

So many ways to do it...

Tube Screamer (cheapest one will do
SD1, or any OD for that matter pretty much.

An EQ also for precision work.

Sometimes a pickup...go ceramic without a big bass boos i.e. Distortion, not an Invader.

Are you using a dirty amp I assume? Sometimes it's the wrong amp...

The pickup solution can be a bit tricky and it can turn out to be quite expensive if it's a one trick pony, say Full Shred or Nazgul. Even tight pickups like Distortion or Black Winter can push plenty of bass into a dirty amp, but tbh I don't have enough experience with guitar -> dirty and loud AF amp -> cab (what cab? Speakers ?) -> mic to mixing desk etc, all in a band mix.
I'd go the pedal way 9 out of 10 times for heavy stuff for tight bass.

Was just gonna say Boss SD1....and actually I recently switched to a Boss GE7 lol
But yea the SD1 is a very similar circuit to a TS9 but its asymetrical clipping

That's the last thing I would use. Its nothing but mids. SD-1 or DS-1 min gain max vol is they way I would do it
