If you've ever wanted to see the inside of a Gibson Archtop...

The 498T that was in my Gibson's Bridge position is out... and on it's way to Russia!

Still not sure what's going to crawl into it's place.

I knew it; it's made of popsicle sticks

That guitar would look killer if you got covered pickups.

IMO

I hope you have the cash in your hand for that pickup.

A C/59 Hybrid would probably sound good in that guitar. I'm pretty sure my next pickup purchase will be the new SD Perpetual Burn......going into an Am Std Strat.

Good move on ditching that 498T IMHO.Not a great sounding pickup stock. Can you get a double black Duncan? All the ones Ive ever seen uncovered are cream.Maybe Custom shop?
How would something like a Brobucker do in that? I know you cannot go very high gain with the semi hollow, so I think maybe the Brobucker might just hit the spot.

I've put some SUPER high gain humbuckers in semi hollow guitars. to my surprise it sounded very good to my ears.

Im thinking of getting something high output for the bridge but having something completely vintage in the neck

Those Weller irons are, indeed, awesome, especially for the $$. I keep trying to find new reasons to fire mine up.

With a magnet swap and a nickel plated cover, the Gibson 490R would deliver. I like A4. Un-oriented A5 would be another interesting alternative.

Brobucker in a semi-hollow rocks! Make it so.

I vote for something by Gibson... or antiquities but those are out of the question ($$$).
