Bridge with high cut. (Eldred mod)

You would think it would be easy. However, I don't think it's actually possible...

Forgive the roughness of it all, but this should work

It will work but its slightly different from the original Eldred Esquire mod. The Esquire version disconnects the tone pot when the parallel cap is brought in. Since it's only one pickup the opposite side of the switch can do all that. It's a smaller cap .0047mF not the usual tone .047mF. I imagine it will be a little darker with tone on 10 then with no tone You could use a no load tone pot to take it out of the circuit entirely.

Yeah, and to further confuse things, I don't I'll even be doing things the same way as the Eldred mod.
I'm now debating adding in a low pass to the 4th position as to mess with the impedance for Fuzz Faces

If the Eldred mod is based on the idea that shunting a cap to ground causes a resonant frequency shift, similar to 0 on a tone control, will adding a bass cut cap interfere with this?

The interference will be less problematic if you wire Eldred mod first (4.7nF from hot to ground) THEN bass cut cap in series. But it will/would potentially give a really narrow frequency response, FWIW. I'd experiment with cap values before to opt for that definitively.

Thanks for the tip. I'm mostly trying it out because I don't care for 3 position blade switches, a sound I use 5% of the time would be better than nothing
