I'm fricken nuts, you guys do this choosing a guitar Lol

Re: I'm fricken nuts, you guys do this choosing a guitar Lol

Yeah that was good advice

I agree
the deal on the strat plus is great but even though I though it was a good guitar it didn't make me go holy shiit!
So it's not worth it no matter what

Great point

thanks!

Re: I'm fricken nuts, you guys do this choosing a guitar Lol

I think you're forcing yourself to make a decision and it's making you more picky.

Also consider that guitars don't instantly fit like an old pair of jeans. Sometimes you've got to wear the jeans for awhile first.

I usually don't go "guitar shopping." I avoid trying to find anything. I just constantly and casually check things out, or watch Craigslist. When something smacks me in the face and says buy me.......then, I know I found the right thing.

That SG Diablo in my avatar.....I've never been a fan of 24 fret necks or Alnico 2 pickups, but that guitar is so freakin badass that I haven't been able to put it down since June. The neck is just stupendous, and the tone of the Burstbucker 2/1 has really grown on me. Even the location of the 3 way switch took 2 weeks to get used to.

Yeah relax and let the guitar find you...... be patient you will know it when you try the right one out!:eyecrazy:

What about. If you find a guitar with a great neck and another with the right body.Swap all the parts you like to one guitar. Then assemble the other parts to resell?:naughty:

Re: I'm fricken nuts, you guys do this choosing a guitar Lol

Tone you have the same problem i do and that's trying to find the perfect guitar, like the others said, just play the guitars and stop trying to buy a guitar, that way you find what feels good and is right for you and that's what i am doing i am taking it easy now, you must have seen my threads, and the responces i got are being echoed in your thread too.

We just need to take that step back and plod along at 60mph in our cadillac rather than flooring it in a mustang.

17 years old and gives great advice! Pretty smart kid I would say! :fing2:

Nick...I'll make your decision easy. Take $2000, and go buy the new Musicman Reflex. That's the guitar you're looking for.

Either that, or their 25th Anniversary, which is nearly the same.

Musicman finally hit the nail on the head.

Yeah I dig kids.
He's a good one too!!
Smart as anything

Re: I'm fricken nuts, you guys do this choosing a guitar Lol

So yeah the verdict is out, I'm looney tunes lol

the funny thing is the guitar I loved the most there was .....get a load of this....a slapped together unfinished basswood body with plain maple neck rosewood board. It played awesome and sang . Had a thick tone and was awesome. Not for sale though. Geez

I have one of those. I believe that is one of the great tonewood combos. And it is not praised. Mine's a Wolfgang Custom hardtail. Have a Custom Deluxe Wolf hardtail also. Same, but ebony. And an Ernie Ball EVH sig.

Basswood is great I think.

But dude, loosen your spec checklist and just fall in love with whatever ya happen to pluck off the wall that sets ya free.

I am actually gonna go the warmoth route and see what I can do this time

are ya stupid AND crazy?

I'm nuts

anyone else feel like that??

yes. Me. Right now. Why? Because I just opened the door that opens onto that maze of horrors known as Fender Ampland. As I understand it, some people have gone very literally insane once they pass through that portal. I actually got kinda scared a moment ago.

Re: I'm fricken nuts, you guys do this choosing a guitar Lol

Joe
I tried the reflex and it was a real nice geetar
actually you are darn close as pvfan is on choosing something that I will like
if that reflex I playedhad a all maple neck I might own it
seriously nice guitar

I need to be patient as everyone says and just get what makes me go wow

Re: I'm fricken nuts, you guys do this choosing a guitar Lol

yep.. you may be suprised. There isnt much variety here locally, so I went on a tear and bought a bunch of guitars from ebay.. (really could afford to do this) but anyhow, it turned out good because I ended up loving some guitars that I NEVER figured Id like and dont like some that I always thought would be my dream guitar.
Moral to the story, is that you really dont know till you play em.
