I think you're forcing yourself to make a decision and it's making you more picky.
Also consider that guitars don't instantly fit like an old pair of jeans. Sometimes you've got to wear the jeans for awhile first.
I usually don't go "guitar shopping." I avoid trying to find anything. I just constantly and casually check things out, or watch Craigslist. When something smacks me in the face and says buy me.......then, I know I found the right thing.
That SG Diablo in my avatar.....I've never been a fan of 24 fret necks or Alnico 2 pickups, but that guitar is so freakin badass that I haven't been able to put it down since June. The neck is just stupendous, and the tone of the Burstbucker 2/1 has really grown on me. Even the location of the 3 way switch took 2 weeks to get used to.
Tone you have the same problem i do and that's trying to find the perfect guitar, like the others said, just play the guitars and stop trying to buy a guitar, that way you find what feels good and is right for you and that's what i am doing i am taking it easy now, you must have seen my threads, and the responces i got are being echoed in your thread too.
We just need to take that step back and plod along at 60mph in our cadillac rather than flooring it in a mustang.
So yeah the verdict is out, I'm looney tunes lol
the funny thing is the guitar I loved the most there was .....get a load of this....a slapped together unfinished basswood body with plain maple neck rosewood board. It played awesome and sang . Had a thick tone and was awesome. Not for sale though. Geez
I am actually gonna go the warmoth route and see what I can do this time
I'm nuts
anyone else feel like that??
