I'm glad the Mesa blew up cause I never would have known about this.......(PICS TOO)

I have heard of these amps, but have never thought to try one. When I took the Mesa back to GC I was gonna let them ship it off for repair. My buddy was with me and was in "The Vault" at the GC and the only amp that had a cord plugged in was this one. Since he is mainly an acoustic player he asked me to try the electric he was looking at. The rest is history. I told the sales dude that I would be taking this amp...............

It's features:

2x12
50 watts
EL34/6L6 Switchable
"Class A" or A/B switchable
Tube/SS recitier Switchable
Footswitchable EQ section
Parallel Effects loop
also all kinds of other tone shaping buttons and switcheroos (that I don't even claim to understand yet).

All that know me know that I like Fender cleans and basic/simple amps. I guess that's why it so crazy for me to buy this sort of modern amp. I gotta be honest though..... I bought cause it is an absolute tone monster!! It has beautiful, full, crisp, shimmering cleans (with tons of HR). It's enough to convince a Fender "clean" snob such as myself. It also has a great Marshally bone crushing crunch side as well.

I am just absolutely in love. The only thing I can imagine I'll do anytime soon is to gank the Chinese tubes.

Don't get me wrong.... the Mesa was FABULOUS and I am sure I just got a dud (it happens), but when I heard this amp it was all over to my ear.

Here it is in all of it's green tolex glory........

You see more and more country/roots rock guitar players using channel switching combos, especially live. Most of them are unfairly pigeonholed as metal amps, when in reality they sound great for a lot of musical styles, especially if you're using classic guitars with low output pickups.

Re: I'm glad the Mesa blew up cause I never would have known about this.......(PICS TOO)

You can do away with your tubescreamer. If it is anything like my 120 watt Pitbull UL there is more gain then you'll ever need. I only have a wah in the front and the Lexicon MPX1 through the effects loop. I use the wah and lexicon for vertain solos only. For most solos and all rhythm, effects just gets in the way of this bad boy.

Congrats but I hope not too many people pick these up. They give a unique tone that will separate you from all the Marshall and Boogie guys. Price tag is comprable to Soldanos and Bogners so that will keep it from the masses. I bought this after the other guitarist in our band got it. He made me sound so bad with his pitbull I had to go out and get one too.

You can dial in any tone but its specialty is hugh gain that gives unbelievable crunch while maintaining definition. No muddy lows at all. It is tight. The VHT Cab has something to do with it too. When I play it through my Marshall 1960AV, the low is still awesome but not as tight and defined. Hit the switch to use the gain stacking and this thing is just brutal. Finally the thing is dead quiet even at high volumes. The loop is quiet too. Unbelievable piece of engineering.

Again congratulations!!!
