Re: I'm now the proud owner of a GROTE guitar...

It sure looks well made, judging by the pics.

I'm pretty sure you hit a home run at that price. It'll probably feel and sound like a $2K guitar, once it's dialed in.

I concur.. Didn't recognize the brand name, and looking at the pics, I thought it was a rather expensive guitar.. Looks like a steal at the price you paid! Id Grope it! Hope it floats your Grote!

Thanks..I hope so too!

Yeah, it looks pretty upmarket & "Grote" does'nt sound very Chinese lol.

Apparently they have a pretty cool turquoise/green-ish version too...did'nt see it listed though..

Description on youtube (video page)

Luckily it plays/sounds/looks anything but Grote-esque haha..

Pups are'nt bad actually (maybe not as 3D as the best...but pretty sweet otherwise), I may swap them out..or may not...the guitar does sound killer as it is though :bigthumb:

Fit/finish-wise it's pretty flawless. Superb fret job, nice low action...comfy neck...stays in tune perfectly...can't complain :bigthumb:

Re: I'm now the proud owner of a GROTE guitar...

Probably more Fender/regular PRS...it's fairly narrow in width & rounded (C shaped) at the back ..why?

Re: I'm now the proud owner of a GROTE guitar...

It's hard to believe anyone could build a guitar that nice, with binding and a nice looking top, for the price of a set of pickups. I like your strap too. LOL

I was thinking of acquiring one and they are bit hard to try out locally
The neck is the part one interacts with the most
So I was wanting a comparison to something more common

Thank you

Yeah, 200 bucks (...including shipping :lmao:) .. it's quite a thing ..I'm not complaining though :laugh2:

Truth is, I was expecting a 'reasonably' good axe, judging by the pics/feedback etc ..or I would'nt have bought it ...but having said that ..it's actually exceeded my expectations in just about every way..the build quality/finish really is 'flawless' I was'nt kidding. No sloppy joints/fret-work/binding..nothing. Sounds great & plays like a dream too. The folk who made it knew exactly what they were doing.

haha..& thanks, I've had that strap lying around for a while...thought it would be perfect for this one :D

Haha..sure ..no problem.. :bigthumb:

EDIT: One thing though ..it's smaller (the body) than I expected it to be..maybe the size of my Charvel ..not huge like a 335 and the headstock has mini-tuners..(like the Grover mini's..)
