This is really one well made guitar. I let it settle down in my shop for a few days after the flight home. Gave it a good set up to my personal tastes tonight. Just about perfect workmanship (by Heritage, not my set up!).
Here's what I just don't get. This guitar is a 2009 model. I was pretty hesitant thinking something must be wrong with it to have been in stock for that long. Also figured it would have a lot of shop wear. None. Well, the dealer is more an internet dealer than a local shop. I guess for whatever reason, it couldn't find a home.
On the plus side, it's had about two years to settle down, have the lacquer cure well, blah blah blah.
I"m still a bit unsure about the PLEK thing. I'm not sure they were using them 2 years ago. Judging by how well it plays, I'm guessing maybe it has been. Not sure it really matters at this point. I did read a few places on the net that all Heritage guitars are PLEK'd. (as someone here pointed out recently)
I got the pole pieces lowered a bit on the bridge pup, balanced it out a bit better with the neck. Someone had it cranked up hot as heck.
This is my 2nd Heritage. Never bonded too well with the first one, 535 gold top with a bigsby. I guess the Bigsby bothered me. Couldn't get it to stay in tune.
this one seems to be a keeper. A great part is that I can play it late at night and acoustically it just sounds marvelous. Not as loud as a traditional acoustic, but much louder than any of my electrics. Makes for a great late nighter.
