I'm Sick!!

I'm Sick, I just banged my strat into a dresser and put a dent 1/4" long and cracked the fininsh...Am I screwed and going to have to look at this the rest of my life,or is their something I can do to fix. Worst of all the dent is on the front at the top...any help would be appreicated..thanks

Same thing happened to me, spent a couple of days bummed out, then realised it's wear and tear. Taught me to be more careful.

It's a guitar bro...if you play it, and I mean really play it it's gonna get marked up...some people pay extra for dents!

I seen some "worn Fenders" for around $900 that looked bad,rusty and brand new!!

Your only sick if you think that dent matters. Did you see Eric Clapton balling his eyes out every time Blackie got dinged? Do you think SRV cared about the resale value of #1 dropping when its finish was wearing off in large patches?

Its not like you put it out of working order. Hell its a FENDER, they are more than able to withstand a beating, and personally I think they look cooler the more natural wear and tear they get. But even if you don't, you have to recognize that beauty fades but tone is forever.

For real man. That is 10x cooler than a mint instrument that never gets played. In my opinion, if you are willing to buy an instrument, you gotta be able to play it anywhere, which is what I do with my guitars.

If you want to see how cool a workhorse strat can look, search the forum for thread's by Wahwah, and look at his strat.

yeah thats a nice dent. if it were just a crack then it would be easy enough to fix but if you try and fix that then you could easily make it look worse.

id not worry about it and just play it!

I remember the first ding I got to my Strat.

The first one always hurts, but eventually you will get to a point where you won't even blink.

I'm coming up on the 15th anniversary of my #1 Strat. I've lost count of how many chips, dents, cracks, and scratches it has. Still looks cool as hell though.

At least it's a white guitar. Put a tiny bit of spackle on the ding and smooth it out with a piece of cardboard. Just like filling a nail hole in the wall. Just an idea, if you don't want it glaring at you all the time.

I used to be the same way. Any dent or scratch was a big deal. Now, when I look at old dents, scratches, faded spots, etc. I think they're cool. They add mojo. Sometimes, they're associated with a story or something cool.
