Hi Fi

MP3

Yeah, I know it's been done before but it's too much fun not to do :D

Got the backing off www.guitarbt.com and added some more guitars to thicken it out, then stuck the lead on top :)

Re: Imperial March.

So cool. Very nice lead, perfect tone and vibe. Your talent is getting a little boring Max, you'll have to improve a little to keep our interest up :D

Lol. Well, I'll post some actual original acoustic stuff maybe this weekend, because a lot of the stuff I post isn't even like the stuff I actually write to be played with a band/singer :smack:

Re: Imperial March.

Sucks ... totally derivative, been done to death, blah blah, blah ...

Seriously, it's great! One of the great musical pieces of the 20th century!
I'll get the scoop on WFD and say that it's unholy!!

Re: Imperial March.

Yeah man, the scores to the old Star Wars films are fantastic :headbang:

(This got inspired by the SW thread in OT the other day :) )

Yep, deffinately. The guy is a genious

I've also been brought up on a lot of Ennio Morricone soundtracks, since my dad is a fan of his music, and old westerns :laugh2:

hes a musical genius (along with becker...)

Re: Imperial March.

Nice work. Very good tone and good vibrato. Where did the drum track come from?

It's a very little known fact that Anakin Skywalker plays a Black Jackson USA Randy Rhodes... uses it to crush minor rebellions, and those hot Imperial Senate chicks dig the sharp lines.

It's mirrored on the back to deflect errant lasers.

I got it off www.guitarbt.com

You have to sign up to get access I think, and you'll find this tab if you follow this path (I can't link you because you aren't a member to my knowledge)

BT Forums -> Backing Tracks -> Share your Files -> Misc BTs

If you don't want to sign up, in a few mins I'm gonna post yousendit links to the original + my versions so you can choose which one you wanna use :)

Re: Imperial March.

Original version: It sounds a lot cleaner, so you can use that or add your own rhythm guitars if you want :)

http://s2.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0U2AJEFXVBV8X1AQCY3LE71Y1T

My updated version, bit more filled out, but more cluttered at the same time (added two guitars, and a distorted bass)

http://s24.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1X8H0SDFZ17KO04E3PX5ICVLPZ

BTW, all the guitars were my Gordon Smith with the A2 JB, just incase that guy who said A2 magnets couldn't do modern sounding stuff checks this out...

Re: Imperial March.

Nuni, I signed up this morning. Happened to see you onboard at the same time. But, I'm *supposedly* working, so I didn't send you a message. Is there a feature which allows you to search the library, like search for Iron Maiden or something? I don't have the time to thread through 1,000 plus entries, but it sure looks cool.

I might have to try that Imperial March on for myself. Do you recommend wearing a cape?

Yeah, theres a search thing in the top right that works like the one on this forum kinda.

There's actually not that much Maiden :yell:

There's a few decent Megadeth ones, and I got a pretty cool Hendrix one (Purple Haze)...

When I first signed up last year I downloaded a few random ones like Clocks by Coldplay to try and write my own melodies over the top instead of just jamming along over the top of guitar tracks.

But for full effect, you'd need the whole thing done.

May the force be with you. :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

oops, I meant Vibrato, not legato. Sorry for the mixup.

Dude, thanks a lot!! I've been trying to get my vibrato sorted out for ages, and I think it's improved a lot this month :)

It's still nowhere near Gilbert/Lynch/Yngwie/Friedman standards, but I'm gonna get there :smoker:

Re: Imperial March.

Oh my gosh, that costume is killer. Next time I'm at my folks' house I'm gonna swipe an old photo of me, circa 1976. I made a homemade Darth Vader Costume for Halloween. i was about 10. None were available so I had to put my imagination to work.
