Hi guys, I am a new Italian boy and I don't know well the English; I have a similar guitar Stratocaster (Jim Reed JR-ST TOP 24 T - view http://www.jim-reed-guitars.com) and I have bought from a few the SD SH-5; the bridge is a Wilkinson Vs100; I wish I were there too know if I have done a good acquisition or I had to buy the TB-5 version?
Answer me!!!! :smack:

I think you should have bought the TB5 version. BUT:
Not all vintage like trems have trem spacing :)
There will barely be any difference in sound. If you think some strings aren't loud enough, just raise the polepiece. I use a FullShred that's F spaced in a non F spaced guitar and it's no problem at all.

Have fun with it, the Custom is a friggin' GREAT pickup.

Re: Important question about SH-5 and TB-5

The VS100 has a 2-1/8" string spread, so a trem spaced (TB-5) would align to the strings better, but a regular spaced (SH-5) will still work fine. There's very little audible difference, most of which can be eliminated by raising the pole pieces for strings that sound weak.

Thank you; then SH5 l is better than the TB5 for my guitar?

Re: Important question about SH-5 and TB-5

there is no better or worse. both the tb-5 and sh-5 will work and sound good. most people will not hear a difference between the tb-5 or sh-5 unless you are eric johnson.

its all about the look of having the strings aligned with the pole pieces of the tb-5 or slightly off-set with the sh-5.
