Incoming - just ordered today!

I've had my eye on this Warmoth neck on their Showcase for a while - it's maple with black gloss finish and pau ferro fingerboard. Finally ordered it so nobody else would get it. It's getting paired with a lightweight (3-1/2 lbs) Soloist body, and is getting one Screamin Demon pup in the neck position. Offbeat? Sure, and I can't wait to hear my favorite humbucker at the "jazz" position. Also it's getting Sperzel in line tuners, and a Wilkinson trem. I'm having it built and set up by my favorite guitar tech here in the Studio City area, John Westcott. Can't wait to get my hands on the finished piece. Yeah, because the Screamin' Demon is a pickup that doesn't need to share. It's got a beautiful airy sound with sparkly upper midtones and highs, and I'm thinking that at the neck it will tone it down just a touch, and somewhat attenuate it's prominent upper mid bump, which can make it sound a bit tube-screamerish. We'll see if I'm right.

Maybe I do sound a bit cork-snifferish. Truth is I just love the way that pup sounds, and don't think it needs anything additional for this guitar.

Could be, I'd just never want to be without a bridge pickup. But then again, I only have three electrics. I imagine if I had thrice that I'd be less inclined to dislike that guitar.

Anyway, congrats! Looks to be a heck of a guitar. Can't wait to see it.

He is a jazz player who plays mostly in 'clean'.

I wanted something with a Zen simplicity. I almost didn't put a tone control on it! If I want more variety I have other guitars.

cant wait to see the neck! sounds like a cool concept.. However... that looks strange with no bridge pup.. Why not put a pair of Demons in it??

I use my bridge pickup so much I couldn't imagine not having one, but please be sure to post some clips of how it sounds.
