Wow, that is actually really nice. I dig the bound neck, too. Are those robot tuners? Post a review when you get it.

Yeah, it's got the robots tuners. We'll see how they work. I know the 2015 models weren't very popular due to the changes they made but I couldn't pass up this price.
Worst case scenario, I replace the tuners and go standard.
From what I understand the fretboard is wider and the neck slightly flatter. It has the 60's style neck with the "slim taper" feature....which I'm pretty sure I'll find comfortable.
I get along fine with Ibanez' wizard neck so I'm sure this will be good. As long as it's not a chunky 50's style I can't see why I wouldn't like it.
I'm also curious about the p90's...I've never owned a guitar with them. I love how they sound...whether these particular p90's are any good remains to be seen.

Re: Incoming NGD

Anyone know if they'll take PayPal from multiple sources?

Re: Incoming NGD

those the ones w/ the weirdo nuts?
Yes, and last I knew, upon request, Gibson was sending out (free) titanium replacements to new owners. Personally, I'll contact Gibson to get one, but I'm going to use the weirdo nut for a while just to see what it does. I expect to eventually replace it.

I couldn't resist getting the LP Junior at $479. I should mention these all have the gold anniversary hardshell case included! Other colors, and still available.

I love cutaway guitars, but man that JR looks great for under $500. The simplicity of the finish is great on the Mahogany. Very nice.

Congrats on the INGD. Can't wait to see what guitars looks like.

Re: Incoming NGD

I'd keep the tuners on until they break. They might be kind of fun to have.

IIRC GraphTech makes a Tusq replacement nut for those the does away with the zero fret

& here I was thinking I was special....

I also grabbed up one of the 2015 L.P. Jr's from Sam Ash yesterday for a crazy low price!!!

This will be my third 2015 Gibson L.P.100 & honestly I absolutely love them!!! Not out of the box mind you, but after you replace the stupid Robot tuners with regular old Grover's & swap the Brass nut out for a Titaium replacement they are fantastic guitars!!! They probably aren't for Gibson purists but the wider neck & beefed up neck joint are absolutely amazing features IMHO once you get used to them?

I also have a Double Cut Special that I bought in 2016 & a L.P.M. (I think they are both in my avatar?)I got when they first came out. They are all great guitars now but you should expect to put a little TLC into it upon arrival & if you're not used to them be ready for a bit of a learning curve. The can feel strange at first but after a week or so it's just like playing any other L.P...

As a matter of fact my 2015 L.P.M is the best playing/sounding Les Paul I own now!!! I just bought a 2017 L.P. earlier this year & while the overall quality has gone up quite a lot since 2015 my L.P.M. (After a lot of tweaking & replacing all the guts, pups, Etc.) still play's & sounds better than the stock 2017 L.P. I own!!!

I suppose if you like them replacing the Robot tuners isn't a must but at the very least definitely give Gibson a call & replace that Brass nut. The Titanium one offers much better tuning stability & sounds like the fretboard while using open chords instead of it sounding, well like Brass???

I had one of these on my Double Cut Special...

They are better than the brass Z.F.N. & they look like a regular nut which is nice but they don't function as well as the Titanium ones Gibson offers. I had all kinds of problems with my D & G strings getting hung up in the nut with the TUSQ, once I changed it out for the Titanium nut the problems disappeared & never returned!!! I suppose I could have just gotten a bad one but with mine one overly zealous strum & I was re-tuning???

Re: Incoming NGD

Did you mention the price, or did I miss it? And what was wrong with that weird nut? I never used one, so I am not sure of the issues or why it gets so much hate.
