Congrats man! See you got over your Carvin aversion. Here's hoping you'll love her as much as your Pinky!

Happy Incoming NGD Day!!!

Never had an aversion to the guitars just some of the stuff that happened when the old guard rolled out and the transition to Kiesel happened. Nothing has ever moved me as a player like a Carvin /Kiesel (although the old GJ era Washburns came close!!) so it just makes sense to go back to um. THANKS man!

Re: Incoming NGD!

Awesome! The Liquifire is one of my absolute favorite neck pickups! I personally found the Crunchlab to be one-dimensional BUT its a cool pickup for sure.

Enjoy!

Re: Incoming NGD!

I too am curious about how those Dimarzios sound

And what an excellent vehicle for them

If you dont like em , it ain't the guitars fault

Looking forward to seeing how the Liquifire compares in this one to the Sentient in the neck on my 93 KOA Hardtail DC. That one has the Alt 8 in the bridge so hmm if I don't the Crunch Lab might drop a Satur8 in it if I like the Liqufire.
This is the 93 DC127 with the Alt8/ Sentient set up in action through my little Subway Rocket. Will be interesting to see how this new one with the Crunch Lab Liquifire set up stacks up!
In particular if that new set up will do the fluid sweet stuff like this with running the Alt/ Sentient in different settings together through little Rocket. LOVING the tones with that combo and if I like the Liquifire but not the Crunch Lab may drop a Satur-8 in the new one to try and see if it will respond like this set up does with the A8 in the bridge and a good fluid A-5 in the neck.

The Liquifire in my rig almost had a "piano-like" feel on the cleans. When people describe a pickup as "tubular" I think of the Liquifire.

Again, the Crunchlab is a cool pickup...just never worked with cleans for me (but the name alone explains why.)

I found it paired beautifully with the Screamin Demon. Super cool combo–very versatile in that both can handle cleans and gain.

Interested in your thoughts on the JP set, especially the Liquifire!

What you describe is about how I feel about the Sentient in the neck of my 93 KOA DC127 with the hardtail. Saw the same terms being used on the Liquifire as the Sentient but the Liqufire looks to be a lot hotter. That concerns me some but we shall see!

It would be interesting to A/B the two! The Liquifire did not feel hot to me at all...but it was paired with an absolute drive monster! The Crunchlab is incredible for high gain with articulation...but the cleans just seemed like they were so edgy.

I have not tried the Sentient–intrigued to see how you compare them.

EDIT: And for the record, I had that JP Set in a Jackson Dinky–Alder with Maple+Rosewood bolt-on neck...just for perspective compared to your Incoming axe.

The Sentient has become my all time favorite neck humbucker for a Super Strat. Very bell like and clear on the cleans without being to bright and harsh or mushy and muddy on the bottom + has a super defined smooth solo tone with gain. Set up with the Alt 8 in the old 127 it's a super versatile set up that reminds me of the VB / HFS set I have in my 07 PRS Custom 24 but much sweeter and bigger sounding on the clean side.

Re: Incoming NGD!

I’ll add, if you guys are so inclined to experiment that the Bluesbucker neck is flipping amazing as well. I’d also describe it as tubular and round under gain and just the right amount chime for cleans.
It does funky cleans amazing.

Re: Incoming NGD!

I have a student that has a really nice Kiesel. I have to say, though...I've watched several of Jeff Kiesel's live Facebook posts, and something about him sort of rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it is the overuse of the word 'bro' or something...I don't know. He has a bit of an odd thing about him that I can't quite place. I sort of have to like the people I am handing over that much money to.
