Inconsistent Wiring: Sigh

The following pictures are each of neck pickups.

The coil with the writing is attached to green (start) and red (finish) wires with the pickup in the first image.
The second image shows the coil with writing attached to the black (start) and white (finish) wires.

Pay no mind to the fact that the first pickup has both hex and slotted screws. It is definitely *not* a Screamin' Demon. ;)

Re: Inconsistent Wiring: Sigh

the pup on the left isnt a neck pup unless its some special pup and as far as i know things look as they should for a bridge pup. the pup on the right is a neck pup and again looks fine.

neck pups have the writing on the stud coil typicall, bridge pups on the screw coil. is the pup on the left a stock pup?

Re: Inconsistent Wiring: Sigh

The one with hex and slotted screws is an SH-10N.

The only thing non-stock about it is that it has slotted screws. :)

Re: Inconsistent Wiring: Sigh

I figured as much. :)

If you're looking for a tight neck pickup to pair with a Screamin' Demon, the SH-10n with a row of fillisters in the inner coil is the one.

Actually, I'd be pairing it with a TB-4.

Re: Inconsistent Wiring: Sigh

Gregory, the SH-10n has two rows of hex screws. Both bobbins are wound the same.

Somebody just changed the hex-screws for filister screws, that's all.

The wiring is *not* inconsistent.

HTH,

Re: Inconsistent Wiring: Sigh

I changed out the hex screws in the inner coil for fillisters. I didn't magically remove the printing from one coil and apply it to the other.

I hope you're not suggesting the red and green wires can connect to either coil in a neck pickup, willy-nilly, because that's what happened here. I suppose if the printing comes after assembly then it could have been applied with the pickup upside down.

Re: Inconsistent Wiring: Sigh

I'm not sure what you mean. The wiring in the pictures was stock.

Before discovering the issue I had only swapped some screws, and I liked the result.

Now I'm trying something new and if I don't like the result I'll go back to the FSn with a row of fillisters. :)
