Anyway, I was wondering if, instead of pole pieces connecting to a bar magnet, I could just flip the magnet on its side and use it as a single long pole piece
Might be stupid. I dunno.
My little drawing of the idea:

So, two bobbins (which can easily be made thanks to stewmac providing the plastic)
With a bar magnet shoved in it like a normal pole price would be.
The bottom part was just my representation of a base plate to mount it in a guitar.
And, of course there'd be wire coiled around like in a normal pickup.
