Introducing the Custom 9 - Sound Clips

Re: Introducing the Custom 9 - Sound Clips

i think the C8 needs to go in your agile and the Schecter (rosewood) gets the Sh5.
does that sound right?

Re: Introducing the Custom 9 - Sound Clips

I have an Alt8 which sounded too congested to me. Maybe i should try a ceramic or an A9 in it.

^ if you do try an A9 in the alt8, let us know your thoughts?

thats kinda how i felt about the C8 in my setup. the lower mids were airy and squishy. it could be a number of things reacting with the C8 though.
i have a DSL100 that has a bass boost feature that i love using but it doesnt work so well with the C8 it was overkill, but with the Sh5 it works quite well and the highs blend through making a balanced overall mteal tone.

i think franks XXX adds alot of super highs to his setup, having to have the treble on zero sounds like a difficult thing to work with imo. but frank your tone still sounds awesome to my ears man. your clips and comparisons improve my reading pleasures on this site :)

Thanks :friday: The super highs only come into play at very high volumes so not a problem at all for recording. Your idea for custom 8 agile, custom schecter makes perfect sense, I'm going to hold off on that one for awhile though.
