Invader in a Les Paul?

Re: Invader in a Les Paul?

ALOT different. The Invader in a LP isnt a good idea. The Invader sounds HUGE but, it is darker sounding with not alot of clarity. The Mahogany and the scale length of a LP makes this problem even worse.

If you want a more modern sounding pickup with more output in a LP, a Custom, Distortion, Full Shred, or Custom 5 will be good choices.

Re: Invader in a Les Paul?

I agree. But it's more because Invaders are a full-spectrum output pickup, and the midrange and low overtones of a Les Paul will overdrive that section of the output. Invaders sound great in an SG, or anything that sounds bright to begin with, but I wouldn't use them in a LP.

Re: Invader in a Les Paul?

If you want big and fat in a LP without going into the mud zone, try the Dimarzio Super Distortion.

A lot of folks seem to think that it's only good for classic rock, but it definatley throws down with a modern high gain amp.

Re: Invader in a Les Paul?

The X2N is monster.Really high output.I would go with PATB-1.IMHO the best hi-gain aplication PU for LP

Re: Invader in a Les Paul?

If you want totally massive output and as much output as you can get, get the Duncan Livewires heavy metal. They have more output than anything MADE!

Re: Invader in a Les Paul?

in a strat they are awesome, but i made the mistake of putting one in a les paul once...pure mud.
