Invader neck model in bridge position

I did a search but surprisingly nothing came up, would have thought someone must have tried it?! I'm sure I read somewhere that Tom Delonge actually used a neck model invader in his strats ,I don't know if there is any truth to this.

So has anyone tried the neck invader in the bridge? Thoughts?

Doubt it... Delonge spec'd the invader for this sig model but never recorded with it.

The invader bridge is bright and thin... not gonna match up with the bridge slot so well.

Its an OK pickup but at the end of the day ive never found anyone who didnt use it that didnt find something else that did everything better

Re: Invader neck model in bridge position

It's a 7.2k pickup with a ceramic magnet. Normally that would be super-shrill in the bridge, but they do have a little cap inside the neck Invader from hot to ground (at least they did when I bought them years ago) to take some of the edge off. Thought it was a bad idea for the neck so I always removed it and it always sounded better to me. If putting one in the bridge, I would leave the cap in there, it just might work.

When i clipped the cap off mine it seemed to thicken it a bit but was still the same brightness... might have just been my perception of the change though.

Ah I wrongly assumed it would have been in the 12k range a la distortion neck, that would have been interesting .
