Invader Pickups Polepieces?

Do the pole pieces do anything on the Duncan Invader Pickup? I just find it odd that a hex head fits in them but for what reason? If purely aesthetic thats cool I guess. I did see if they were adjustable for ****s and gigs and hope I didnt hurt anything (part of me doesnt think I did). Thank you

Well, those hex heads are actually shaping the magnetic field. Some pickups use screws, some slugs, some small hex screws, etc...but the Invader with different poles would sound and react, well, differently.

Well, they are screws, and they use a hex adjustment, so they can be adjusted for string balance. The Invader is really powerful, so I don't think any sort of adjustment is really needed but it is there if you want it. What other adjustments do you want to make?

They definitely affect the sound. I put the poles from a Detonator (same as Invader poles) in a Dimarzio Evolution. This was like 12 years ago and don’t remember exactly, but it was a noticeable change.
