Invader string height

Just installed an Invader. Do you set the height from the top of the pole pieces or from the pickup?

What do you mean by that? I'm not sure I totally got it...

...but regardless, the Invader isn't physically allowed to be set high since the polepieces are so big you won't be able to raise the coils much either way. I like that one really backed off from the strings, otherwise it's just too much, in my opinion.

I mean when setting the pickup height they measure from the top of the pickup to the string usually 3/32". So with the Invader do you measure 3/32 from the top of the pole peice or the bobbin?

Too close and it will be real bassy, too far and it will sound thin and chintzy, somewhere in the middle is probably where you want it. 3/32" is probably a good starting point, but there are other factors that affect height, like string gauge. You might like it better a little higher or lower too, best thing to do is experiment.
