Iron Maiden Fat Strat

:bling: I bought a brand new Fender Signature Iron Maiden Fat Strat signed by Janick Gers. I has to Tex Mex Single coils for the middle and neck pickups (Color: black) and a Burstbuster Humbucker pickup for the bridge pickup (color: black). It also has a mirrored pickguard. It is badass.

Re: Iron Maiden Fat Strat

Congrats on the score. I bet that's a sweet guitar.

BTW, we're gonna need some pics. You can't tease us like that then hold out on the pics. :laugh2:

EDIT: Checked your profile. That looks awesome! I've been eyeing a strat similar to that at Guitar Center for a while. It's got a vintage trem, though, and I'd much prefer the Floyd on a guitar like that. Yours might just be perfect.

Re: Iron Maiden Fat Strat

what on earth are you talking about???

the iron maiden strat was only made for one year (2001) and came with duncan hot rails in the neck and middle and a duncan JB jr in the bridge.

so how did you get a "brand new" one with all the wrong pickups in it?

oh and i own a real iron maiden signature strat (i've modified) so yes i know about them.

Re: Iron Maiden Fat Strat

Sounds more like an American Stratocaster® HSS which comes with two Tex Mex single coils and a "Diamondback" humbucker. Pickguard could easily be aftermarket as well as the humbucker being changed out for a Burstbucker (which is a Gibson pickup). Still, if that's what it is, cool guitar nontheless.

I have a feeling it got labelled as an Iron Maiden Fat Strat for the simple fact that it's signed by Janick.

A Fat Strat is/was a dual humbucker Made in Mexico Strat.

Edit: Since the clarification below, it could be the current MIM HSS Strat with aftermarket pickguard and replaced pickup.

Only the serial number will tell for sure.

Yessir, I believe so. I only know that because years ago I was looking at one but decided against it in the end.

Re: Iron Maiden Fat Strat

that's a catalog picture also known as "stock photography" that all the shops and online dealers used when the guitar was for sale new. that's not a picture of a guitar he owns.

It also doesn't have the same pickups that were mentioned in the opening post. Looks like the bridge is a JB junior, LIL 59 or another mini humbucker.

Re: Iron Maiden Fat Strat

The one in his profile matches what Mike said. If you blow up the pic, you can just make out the "rails" in the neck and middle, and the bridge looks like a JB Jr.

Re: Iron Maiden Fat Strat

Hmmm... sounds like it was either a fat strat modded to look like a Iron Maiden Sig, or there was some confusion with the names of the pickups.
