Funny...I emailed them yesterday asking what pickup would be good in a bright ebony necked Les Paul, and could I get it in double creme. The response I got from them was the Steam Hammer. Here's the description in the email.
"It’s not too hot, or sharp sounding and sounds great in every other LP custom we’ve tried it in."
However, the reviews on this pickup are just the opposite, saying its the hottest pickup they've ever played, can be harsh in the wrong guitar and ice picky. It also happens to be the only pickup they have in double creme. :cool2:
Either all the reviewers are hearing something different, they person who responded doesn't have a clue, or they just want to sell a pickup. I can't think of anything else, can you?

I was considering those for a foreign sound (I'm a USA-en), but the thing that got me was shipping costs. From Britain to Oregon is a Loooooooooong way (4926 miles!!!) so I instead opted for the more expensive but fine models from Seymour Duncan!!(wink wink*shamelssPlug*wink wink).

I've got Duncans in everything, but this one guitar is giving me a problem. I'm a little low on cash so I'm looking for cheaper options that I can try, then sell if I don't like'em. Got a set of Dragonfire distortions coming. $31 shipped for the pair, and the reviews on them are about 90% good so...

Yeah, listened to them, but they don't tell you what kind of guitar, amp etc... Some of them sound great too, but this guitar is a picky sonofa...
