I agree. Of the three the Custom Custom is my favorite...followed by the Custom. I had the Custom 5 in my '95 Hamer Studio Custom for a while and liked it at first. Eventually it struck me as being a little bright and lacking in mids. Lew

Exactly what I plan on doing, but having two sets of Dimarzio's and never played ANY Duncan's, I kind of need a starting point. I've listened to the sound clips on the site of all the pickups, I can't really tell a whole lot from listening on computer speakers, but I was thinking Custom or JB based on clips and searches I have done on this forum. Everyone has been helpful, and it's obvious everyone has their own opinions. What has helped me is the pickups that nobody suggested, i.e, nobody has said a PG, Dime, Invader, etc... will work well for what you're asking. Looks to me I'll try the Custom first, if that don't fly, I'll try CC, then the JB. I've got a starting point at least now. :beerchug:
