Is it time for a new UGF pickup?

It's electrically the same as wiring two 2-conductor humbuckers in series. Just they are stacked on top of eachother with only one magnet.

Huh, so you don't need a connection back into the rest of the coil from the tap point? I assumed the tap would need two wires, the finish of the lower wind and the start of the rest of it, and for "full" output you'd put those together like a series link between humbucker coils. I am curious... thanks!

the whole coil is connected. the tap just adds another "finish" wire so when you use that you only get the winds behind that point. there is one start wire, and two "finish" wires, the tap and the actual finish of the whole coil.

So, if I have it straight, you remove a little bit of insulation at a point and put in a Y connection out of the coil before winding the rest?

For a new group pickup on this forum I reckon it would be difficult to reach a quorum.
Agreeing on EQs and what type of wind, drive most people out of their mind
Shroedinger´s cat is easier to solve: Our thinking may need to evolve.
In the meantime however, maybe we could agree...to reissue without the custom shop fee.

A brobucker, or fuglybucker may be the best bet, to find an acceptable solution yet.
Anything that results in one less failed poll would have a better chance to fulfill it´s role
Polls are much better full of pics and such, guitars, amps pedals...oh so much!
An earlier forum pup that got off the ground seems more likely to succeed pound for pound.

I´m not nearly the oldest of members on here, but there´s one thing that's very clear...
The atmosphere has changed quite a bit, it´s missing some fun and lots of wit
I may be an old fart who hasn´t a clue, but I´ve got my ideas and you have too.
