So, i finnaly got my guitar back from service man. It's a Vintage copy of Les Paul. Now equipped with seymour duncans, better electronics, push-pull split controls on tone knobs, and higher gauge string 11-52. It's tuned to e flat. Now i can play all those songs in e flat, and i have very fun time playing that guitar now for about three ours :D but it's time to go to sleep.. all i can say it's pretty much funny and interesting, i would play three hours more, but neighbours are there close and i have job tommorow. anyway, my first impressions on e flat and a new upgraded guitar :D oh, yeah and i found out that the band Budgie plays pretty much everything in e flat as well Ugly Kid Joe, U.S. Bombs, Body Count and Truckfighters. and i really like that Black Sabbath album with Ian Gillian on vocals, it's too e flat. anyway i hope for some good inspiration to write down some cool riffs in e flat. i also try dropped c# and it sounds very cool. :D it leads me into different styles of music, like doom, stoner, punk etc.. i wanna try play Cannibal Corpse early albums one day whatever i never listen to them, but i am kinda moving from just one asortement of metal music: thrash. i would like to try some other genres, cause i found it little boring playing only thrash :D pickups from Seymour Duncan that i tried are: Distortion, Custom, Pearly Gates and Jazz. next i want to try is 59 on the bridge :D and i am trying to get some used Jackson guitar made in japan, with alder body, maple fretboard, finally with floyd rose and with mounted classic pickup of that time, that is called JB .

Well, after one month of playing my guitar in e flat tuning i deicide to go back to standard e... it doesn't impressed me somehow, and i found out that i can play whatever is in e flat in e standard as well. more impress me drop d, and i will give another guitar a chance in d standard or c# standard now. anyway, there is much more stuff to play in standard e, and those in e flat i can play in standard as well. anyway, thanks but i found i like standard e much more.

Some of those famous players tuned down to E flat so they could use heavier strings and still be able to bend them easily, others did it to fit their vocal range. Easier to hit the "high notes" (vocally) tuned down. I have noticed that Hendrix for example mostly tuned to E in the studio, but often live the band tuned to E flat, probably to help Jimi keep from straining his voice.

Well, to add, at first i think e flat is bul**** etc. now, i kinda get used to it.. i don't emagine my Les Paul without it. and standard e annoys me. i play pretty much everything from classic rock to metal, blues in that tuning. i think it's the real tuning for me.. i use a winamp pace maker a lot to change the pitch, and.. as i said before: i can't imagine my Les Paul without it anymore. i think that guitar will stay in e flat or even lower, like: forever :)
