I had a first gen TransTube Bandit and it was a great amp.

Peavey invested a lot of time and engineering in TransTube to get them to sound and feel like tube amps. Like the Corvette is for GM, the Bandit is for Peavey TransTube.

If you have not read it before, there is a paper with some details behind TT.

Chapter 3. - TransTube​

There is usually a Bandit 112 on most venue's backline.

People used to argue on the Peavey Forum about which generation of Bandit was the best. I owned a silver stripe and the matching 112 cab for a long time. Finally got the courage to buy a current gen and sold my SS to a budding guitarist.

Oh man, I'd love one of those Peaveys if it were 22 frets. I love shorter-scale super strats.

Check these out. 24.75 scale 24 frets, and you can even order it with a Duncan Perpetual Burn in the bridge. Woods color fretboard headstock etc can all be done easily if you call them. Chris Hong is an old friend and would be my recommendation. These are absolute killers!

Come on Chris cut Peavey a bit of slack. I know they have made some questionable gear but when they hit they hit. I love my Classic 20, it sounds fantastic. Tons of gain on hand.

I'm don't despise Peavey product as much as I despise Hartley. His formula for success was to locate his business in what was then the poorest county in the nation so he could pay the lowest wages. I'm a capitalist, but I wasn't into making a killing. I just wanted enough to be content. Hartley's kind of thinking is just low and mean - in the old fashioned definition of the words. Hartley meant to enrich only himself, period. Did he do it?

I can't ever see me owning a Kiesel, though. I played about a dozen of them at NAMM, and every single one was neck heavy. And they look great in pictures, but if you look closely, there is some sloppy work. Also, I can't stand listening to Jeff Kiesel. His 'bro-speak' drives me crazy.

I don't know much about Hartley, or the company, but wouldn't building his business there create jobs? I don't know. Just asking.
