Is Seymour Duncan trolling me!?

So I bought a STK-S4M for my strat this week from this dealer:

http://phantom48.com/stks-4m-black

I was under the impression SD universally used a suffix N or B to indicate neck or bridge respectively, so when I ordered a model with a 'M' suffix I naturally assumed it was for middle. When it arrived the box had the 'M' but didn't indicate any position otherwise

If you read the description in the link I posted it indicates I bought a bridge pickup, so what gives? is the retailer's blurb wrong or has SD decided to give bridge pups a 'M' suffix now!?

If the latter why the fudge would they do that?

The picture in that link shows an SSL-4 Quarter Pound Strat. The specs look right, though.

Can you post a picture?

Sorry for the poor quality pics, the label on the box says:
STK-S4m stack plus for strat B

What does the label on the pickup say?

Regarding what can go where, you can put them anywhere you want. If you're using an SSL-1 RWRP or SSL-2 RWRP in the middle and you want to split an STK-S4 in the neck for the pair to be hum-cancelling, you get an STK-S4M, believe it or not.

Re: Is Seymour Duncan trolling me!?

It's absolutely an STK-S4M thats what it says on the pup & the box.
I just want to be certain it's the middle pup & not the bridge I already have a lil 59 in the bridge & will be ordering an STK-S4N in April, after payday :)

Re: Is Seymour Duncan trolling me!?

It is basically the STK-S4N but RWRP relative to the STK-S4N so that the two can be split (to retain more high-end) and continue to be noise cancelling.

You can put it in the middle and an STK-S4N in the neck, or put another STK-S4M in the neck if you don't plan on splitting since it makes no difference. I'm not advising you to get a second STK-S4M; I'm just making the point.

The Little 59/STK-S4M/STK-S4N should make a great combo.

Alternatively, you could put an STK-S4B in the neck if you want the pickup in neck to be a little bit hotter than the one in the middle (in addition to it being stronger by virtue of the position). So...

the Little 59/STK-S4M/STK-S4B would also make a great combo.

Let us know how it turns out!
