Just how hot is the JB and would it sound good in an Alder body guitar with a maple cap? Or would it be too bright even with the volume and tone backed down to 250k?

It's definitely hotter than the PAF Pro by a bit...not a ton but a good bit.


I think it's a touch less hotter than the Evolution...but not by much.

Not totally sure how it compares to DiMarzios, but I will say that the JB is not a very hot pick up. I'd put its output at somewhere around what the regular Custom is, maybe a tad more.
