Just wondering if there are separate bridge and neck alnico pro II's? I just bought a supposed alnico pro II neck pickup. Can I use it as a bridge pickup also? The box says alnico pro II, but the guy says its a APH-1N, and on the this site it only shows that it can be used in both positions. Im really confused???

the "N" in APH1N denotes a neck model
the bridge version will say APH1B on the bottom sticker
if you look at the specs on the main site, the models which come in both neck and bridge versions usually have higher resistance in the bridge, in order to balance better with a neck pickup
while vintage pickups were wound to the same specs, over the years folks realized that hotter bridge pickups were more balanced

If you use it as a bridge, it'll probably resemble an Antiquity bridge, since it's a similar output. I've never had any problem with using a pickup for bridge or neck, regardless of what it's labeled. Seymour has even suggested trying neck humbuckers with vintage singles, to balance them better. You still get the same kinda tone, but the output is different.

i had the a2pro neck used it in the neck position of my LP and hated it.
tried it in the bridge and loved it.very sweet with mids and bass to spare.
it went in the same les paul guitar.
no complaints as to output in bridge,neck was somewhat low.

I've got alnico II pro humbuckers on my les paul, they're really clean sound pickups, really cool tone
