Is there a pedal that will give me this sound?

Hey guys, does anyone make a pedal that simulates the sound of a synthesizer? Something along the lines of the "1984" instrumental from Van Halen, or the intro to Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again." Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

My Boss VF-1 has some "Analog" guitar synth patches in it. I'll mess with it tonight and see if I can get close. I'll let you know.

Also, didn't Moog make an analog guitar synth pedal a couple of years ago?

Moog made the MoogerFooger pedal and EH made a couple guitar synth and bass synth pedals.
mostly they're pretty expensive. it's really cheaper to just buy a synthesizer.

IME the problem with most processor-based approaches is polyphony. It's not possible to track chords with any device I've used (incl the VF-1).

yeah the only way around that is the roland gk pickup.
