Hey guys.

I was reading the local paper and I noticed an ad for a USA Peavey Wofgang Special for £375/$687, and was just wondering if this was a good deal or not?

I'm not really in the market for a new guitar, but if it's a good deal then I might pick it up :)

Thanx for any info.

If that is new then that is pretty good, if used then to much!

Its about 4 or 5 years old.

I still see Peavey Wolfgangs on sale at over £800-£900, so I didn't think £375 was too bad a price. The guy that's selling it said he's willing to negotiate the price, so I might try out my haggling skills :D

Thanx for the reply

Seems pretty fair since your currency is pounds and you're earning pounds. It is only expensive when you convert it to $US.

Hey, nottingham, cool!

They're about £700 new, but like the man said, check eBay. They pop up from time to time :)

Thanx for the replies guys.

Norman_T, I found that Wolfgang on Ebay before I discovered the 1 in the paper. I tried to email the guy to ask whether its a USA or a Korean model, and the emails kept bouncing back. So I decided against bidding incase I can't get hold of the seller after the auction.

'Just realised that Brow and Lee are both from Nottingham - are they related, could they be the same person???' - No we're not the same person, atleast I don't think we are :)

I do remember seeing reviews for a USA Peavey Wolfgang Special. I think it has less cosmetic frills and the such, but is still made in USA. I could be wrong though :)

Re: Is this a good deal: USA Peavey Wolfgang Special

there is a wolfie special usa to my knowledge

the korean one is the export model with the quilt top

the americans are plain or flame top

There are American made standards, American made specials, and there is also a Korean model. The Korean model has a quilt top and finished neck. As far as the price, that would be expensive for the U.S., but if they tend to go for more in your country, then I suppose it's a decent price. They typically go for around $400 American or so over here.

Specials are not Korean. Only the quilt tops are. $675 for a used American Wolf isn't a bad price. They list for $1800 new. Its very high for the Korean quilts as you can get them new for that price.
