I can say 2 things for sure...in the early days at G&L (when Leo would have been building guitars) there was a paper tag glued to the body in the neck pocket thqt the builder would sign after the guitar was completed...if Leo really built that guitar his name will be on that tag. Second, closest G&L ever came to being sued that I know of was in their first year of production, they were building the forst guitar (the guitar that became the ASAT) and Grescth odreded them to change the name of the guitar...Leo was calling the guitar Broadcaster (Just like he had done some 30 years before at Fender) and the people at Grescth made them stop (Just like they had some 30 years before!). There are a little less than 500 G&L Broadcasters, every one I have ever seen and/or heard/read about is all black with an ebony fingerboard. The guitar on Ebay was made after the Grescth thing because it is an ASAT.
