Heel Whacker
so i am seeing these 9 string guitars typically associated with heavy gain / high distortion / crushingly brutalz modern music
and they got me wondering about potential pickups for these guitars that could be appropriate for *non* heavy music
would it be possible to have one pickup optimized as a bass pickup just under the 3 low strings and another optimized for guitar just under the upper 6 strings ... they would not share magnets / winds / bobbins / etc ... each could be routed to a separate output for appropriate signal processing and amplification ... the idea would be that one might want vastly different tonality for the bass lines than for the rhythm and lead guitar parts
further - could these 'partial width' pickups be adjacent to each other? or would they have to be staggered for physical dimension practicality?
