Isolation Cab Schematics

Re: Isolation Cab Schematics

The problem you'll run into is standing waves... I honestly don't think it's worth it.

That said, get a Weber MASS or some sort of attenuator, and run the amps FX loop into your interface and apply an impulse of a cabinet to it... I'll be damned if I can tell the difference.

What's to figure out really? LOL

Build a BIG box with two halves...the speaker goes in the bottom half with the mic mount & cabling I/O and the top half is what opens up to grant access to the speaker & mic.

Hit all the seams with silicone caulk, stuff the insides with fiberglass & blam-O!

You've got an iso-cab!!!

Or 'ya could save the trouble & get one of the Randall jobs for a couple three hundred bucks. I was just tracking some gee'tars with one of 'em today. It's not bad. The Demeter is a little quieter I think...but it was TOTALLY workable and brought a dimed out Bandmaster to a level that we could talk over & didn't get into the drum mics positioned around the room.

We did toss a couple three packing blankets over it & got it up on some neoprene hockey pucks to cut the volume down a little more, but man...open that sumabitch up and WHEW!!!!

Was it EVER loud!
